You bring up a great point that would be great if indeed we have been proactive in that aspect! I’ve never thought about highly funded schools even using this money for the backups….. so many moving parts of this….
Totally agree…. My brother is a TTU alumni and i was shocked last spring when he told me about that Softball pitcher getting a cool Mil…. Crazy times…
I’m also just imagining what the Top 3 Spends will be for the 2026 season…
Here are estimates for Top 3 Spending on 2025 season:

1. Texas Longhorns (Texas NIL Collectives) – ~$40 M (estimated)
One of the highest reported team spend totals, including major deals around star players and multiple multi-million NIL packages.
2. Ohio State Buckeyes – ~$35 M+ (estimated)
Large collective giving premier players (especially wide receivers and other stars) significant NIL backing.
3. Texas Tech Red Raiders – ~$28 M (estimated)
Strong Big 12 spend tied to high paying deals, including massive guarantees for recruits/elite prospects.

Sure does! What a difference a month makes….
Contain, but also somehow get better at Spy position as running qb’s really hurt us.
