Saban absolutely could’ve, but even he couldn’t have outbid the insane Texas Tech/Oregon money being thrown around
The other issue is that he couldn’t have kept 5 star talent around for 3 years before starting, which was Alabama’s real superpower, getting elite recruits to sit and wait their turn
Saban would still be the best coach in basically any era, but it wouldn’t look like it did in his prime.

If you know anything about the history of slavery in the South, no school should still be called 'Ole Miss' or the 'Rebels' for that matter, in 2026.
