not at all. Being older and more mature really makes a huge difference.

The sad part is that with all these PBR/Perfect game promoting these kids on how great they are......then you know they should be bc they are almost 2 yrs older than the normal kid in their grade.

I know if it was able to be done in Ascension almost everyone would utilize it. I know I would of.
Gotcha....here in ascension parish they don't allow it at all unless you have some pull with the school district. I know of 2 here that have done it.

We have some really young players, like Tunnard who pitched last night who is only 17 and some others who are 17yr old srs. But parish won't let them do it.

That extra year makes a big difference.
I was at the game...He was unhittable last night. Impressive outing. Even when he got behind in the counts he came back.

What baffles me with West Monroe is how every sr is almost 20yrs old and all freshman are already 16. Seems like every year you look up kids and are like wtf.

I'm guessing they are all held back in 8th grade?
Dutchtown Beat Central 4-0.

Was at the game unreal pitching performance by both Guidroiz and Johnson.

Guidroiz 5.2 innings 10 ks 4hit, 3 BB 1 ER
Johnson 7IP 11ks, 6 hits, 1 BB 0ER

Both were hitting 90 on the mound. Big win for Dutchtown.
Dutchtown I think will have their #2 guy Tunnard pitching based on pitching schedule. think their #1 is pitching Tuesday against Central.
Who they throwing first against Dutchtown?
Dutchtown needed a win so I believe they extended Johnson since he was rolling and keeping them off balance. 10k's 1er 1BB.

Helped with dutchtown getting up early on Romero. Romero settled down after the 1st and his offspeed started to work for him well.
Totally agree. These HS throwing programs are a joke. Its so bad that when a kid comes back from Tommy John and is on a true "prescribed" throwing program from someone who knows what they are doing. The coaches keep questioning it.

Lot of schools are on old basic throwing programs where you ramp up before game 1 with a 24 pitch pen then expect the kid to come in and throw 60 plus pitches first game. Then they question the kid on why they are sore.
Dutchtown vs Uhigh showed some great pitching from both sides. Dutchtown gave up 6 unearned runs and Uhigh had timely hits after that. Dutchtown struggled defensively.

Sundstrum looked good with Velo up to 86. Thought he threw harder
Zweingue - gave up some hits but velo was up to 89

Johnson - had a solid outing, defense didn't help. Up to 91
Watched Dutchtown last night against Rummel. Dutchtown won 11-5. They have 8 returners/srs starters. Pitching looked really good and swung it well.

Johnson 1 IP 3ks no hits 87-90
Tunnard 2 IP 4ks no hits 85-88
Akers 1 IP 2k's
Fontenot 1IP 2k's

They are going to be a sleeper as no one seems to be talking about them.
If they were to combine prairieville and St Amant that team would be legit a year or 2 from now. Both have really good your players.
Dutchtown will feel the affects from the new school after this year. They will have probably 8 Sr's in the starting lineup. Top 4 pitchers are Srs....going to be rebuilding for sure but not much talent in the younger classes so going to be a struggle for a while.
Again, not from that area so don't know the inside story. you asked for someone and I gave you a kid I knew did that.
On the outside looking in it seemed like recruiting but knowing the inside story now makes sense to me.

I wish in AP we didn't have 5-5A schools within a 10 mile radius. Our kids here play together growing up but have to be split for HS. lots of talent going to different schools.
I agree with Catholic recruiting.

But I know a buddy who had a kid at St louis Catholic and said their best player left and went to barbe last year. That is one that I know of. Don't live out there but have family and they say it happens all the time.
For me with all the hype on CF and SS didn’t add up. They both didn’t hit in either game. Facility was nice but fans were idiots. Blowing air horns while our pitchers were about to release the ball. Bush league fans in my opinion. Coach was exhausting watching.

Think Alexander had TJ so only hit last year. Really good at the plate. You miss a pitch as a pitcher he hurts you.
Barbe should be solid every year given the recruiting they are able to do every year from other schools.

Watching them in person last year I was only impressed with Littleton, Alexander and Ledoux. Them and the pitcher who went to McNeese. The others that PBR talks about I wasn't impressed at all and didn't think they were any good. Littleton and Alexander from what I saw are the real deal.

Now watching the coach run around all game trying to get people to look at him was very exhausting. Think the game was stopped 5 or 6 times so he could be seen.
We had 2 pocket radars last year and compared it against the Stalker. one of the Pocket radars was 2 miles low off from the Stalker and the other was 7 low with new batteries. You are right if working correct they are close but have to be right behind.
You at the game?

I was told all pitchers pitched an inning....How did Dutchtowns 2 first pitchers look. would assume that was Johnson then Tunnard. Curious.
I think your right. Dutchtown will feel the effects after this year. STA and Pville will have the better teams for the next 4 years for sure based on the talent that is going there. But agree it will even out.
Pulling for him too. He was 85 his first outing off a pocket radar. Once he gets comfortable I believe 90 will be attainable. Don't really trust those pocket radars.
Taylor Tunnard. He was 88 as a sophmore then had TJ surgery and missed last year. he is back healthy and has thrown 2 innings this year and looked good. Velo will be 90 plus if healthy.
they have 4 or 5. Sanchez, Mcclure, Gisclair, Morris and the catcher who signed with LSUE. 3 of the guys above were pitchers that did well. They will have some young guys who should help. Freshman class for them is really good and think in a couple years they will be really good.
