Skiing has been and always will be a left leaning sport .
I have been in Freeskiing since I was 10 and it’s always been this way

I went to ski camp with Gus at High North Ski camp in Whistler BC in June 2006. . He was an a-hole attention whore 20 years ago and he still is now. I almost got sent home for calling him a fig . Turns out I was right !
Btw he competes for Britain. 15 years ago , before he came out he was considered one of Freeskiing’s rising stars. Since he came out and became famous from his exploits in the 2014 Olympics, skiing has taken a back seat to “celebrity”.

Why? They don't allow half their population to subsist off the other productive half, do they?
Its like you think society can run on vibes while its worker base collapses.
When births fall far below replacement, you don’t just get fewer kindergarten classes. You get too few taxpayers to fund pensions, healthcare, infrastructure, and disaster response. Rural towns hollow out. Schools, clinics, rail lines close. Companies can’t hire. Growth slows, then stalls. Meanwhile the share of very elderly people—who deserve dignity and care—keeps rising.
Pointing this out doesn’t mean I’m cheering for mass immigration as a magic fix. Importing people at scale would change the country in ways many citizens never consented to, and it can create new social strains while only partially easing the math.
My worry is simpler and darker: what if the birth rate doesn’t rebound? What if family policy, work reform, and cultural shifts come too late? Then you’re left managing long decline rather than revival.
You can love a nation, want it to remain itself, and still admit the demographic trajectory is brutal. Pretending it’s harmless isn’t optimism; it’s denial.

While this is based and awesome , Japan needs to fix its birth rate ASAP

Yes they are.
Zak Brown mentioned he’s hounding Fernando about running Indy again in 27 , but I don’t know if Fernando will oblige as the risk calculus changes once you have kids .

That seat is going to go to Felipe Drugovich. I don’t see McLaren letting Piastri go. I believe he is locked up long term as well .
Additionally my business partner is friends with Fernando so I usually get fed crumbs of intel and I haven’t heard any mention of Fernando considering stepping down

Listen man, it’s a huge bummer as to what Daytona has become in its current state
Last I checked they still haven’t sold out (for a track that seats 100k, down from 175k+) of reserved seating
The current aero package blows and requires very little skill. Nobody wants to watch guys fuel save for 90% of the race.
The mystique and aura has been lost .
Seems like everyone is more hyped for the Rolex 24 nowadays than the Daytona 500

Unless you believe that trans people become the gender to which they transition

It’s really not as big of a differentiator as you think- if you look historically at the best freestyle skiers , there isn’t a correlation to the best “athlete” getting the best results
If you said downhill skiing I’d agree with you … moguls is so much more nuanced

then why are there separate divisions? Are you saying in a mixed division men would not dominate, or maybe women would? I truly don’t know and you claim to be an expert so honest question.
Because all legitimate sports should be subdivided into men’s and women’s competitions
However a woman larping as a man, as in the case of this discussion , in mogul skiing is not going to create the same competitive imbalance as like a tranny male competing in women’s boxing , rugby, soccer , volleyball etc

So clearly you don’t know shite about shite in competitive mogul skiing
I actually do and I was MAGA , now America First and I believe transgendersism is a mental illness
This is a confused biological woman competing in woman’s moguls
testosterone doesn’t offer an advantage in terms of being able to throw better tricks down a zipper line.
In moguls you are judged on mogul form, tricks and time.
The HRT may offer a slight advantage in terms of speed, but it won’t make a difference in terms of form or throwing tricks
Men are better in women in free skiing because men aren’t afraid of taking risks and going huge.
This tranny still has a woman brain , there is no advantage . Not worth dying on this hill

The Indycar program would be based on their GTP engine.
The reason the new Indycar engine formula hasn’t been released is because they are considering allowing divergent engine formulas governed by BOP ala IMSA/WEC

I think this will be a cool event. INDYCAR needs to do anything they can on their part to make it happen. I assume it’s planned to be a one time event. With Trump involved this will probably have the most bad arse gold trophy ever made.
Even though it was announced last week, planning in earnest for this has been going on for almost a year.
We should get the track layout next week.
A lot of libs are super salty about it but I think it will be an amazing event.
While the layout featuring the National Mall as the background will be a 1 year deal, Indycar is partnering with the Caps and Wizards ownership group . Assuming the race is successful (I can’t see how it won’t be) , I’d expect to see the event evolving into an annual fixture on the IndyCar schedule in the DC metro
