I was 100% on board with the strikes on their nuclear facilities 7 months ago, that was a good call, and it should've stopped right there. Iran had made zero progress in recovering their nuclear program after those strikes, there was absolutely zero reason to get into this quagmire.

Agreed. He has really painted himself into a corner with these countdown threats. Either he will claim "progress in negotiations" for the 37th time (even though Iran has apparently cut all communication) and he will look weak, or he will drastically escalate this situation and energy prices will become catastrophic for the global economy.

Mass deportations is the only thing that is going to help. If you were going to tank the midterms, this was the cause to do it for, not Iran.

Considering high oil prices filters down to nearly every consumer product we buy, no...no it's not a good thing for the US either. Americans aren't going to be getting more money because of higher oil prices but they're certainly going to be spending more, so how is that a good thing?

They didn't close the strait for their own ships, they've been moving freely. They're going to have pretty serious issues soon though with infrastructure being taken out.
