re: if lsu hosts a regional
Posted by jumboragincajun on 5/23/10 at 4:03 pm to tigerdup07
If they win the SECt, I think they have an outside chance of hosting. RPI would be top 20, and that could be justified considering the history of fan support. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the selection committe puts a lot of focus o keeping as many teams as possible within 400 miles to keep them from having to fly to a regional site. If southeastern or NE St. gets the Southland bid, Southern gets
the SWAC bid, that would put that would put 4 teams with LSU and the Cajuns not having a regional within driving distance as Ole Miss has fallen out of hosting in most recent projections. Austin and Ft. Worth are closest projected hosts, both over 400 miles for LSU, ULL, and
SLU. It is an outside shot, but STRANGER things have happened since the committee put so much focus on the 400 mile traveling distance.

re: what was the crowd like at tthe LSU-UL softball game?

Strom don't forget about SLII - The original name.
Anyway speaking of identity, Baton Rouge lacks the cultural identity that New Orleans and Lafayette have. And BR is stuck in the middle with no distinguished culture. I work in BR and REGULARLY feel the animocity about ANYTHING Lafayette, whether it's a music fest, restaurant, LL baseball or anything Cajun. I think that stems a lot of the hard-on against the University. Anyone
that has lived in both places can surely relate.
Well LSU/ULL softball is done. I'm tired of talking/reading about school names, been doin' it since '84. Which means I'm pretty much done with tigerdrippings for a while, unless the big boys meet up in a regional. Good luck in SeC tourney,
would love to see them host the Cajuns in regional play.

I just never understood why an LSU fan would CARE what a a little peon school is called? I think it's VERY clear that ULL is not in ANY way a threat to flagship status, research funds, or NATIONAL recognition in general. So why does the little red headed step child cause so much grief for one of the top overall athletic programs in the country?

"Let me go Deep, deep, deep" by Blackstreet.
It's a slow groove R&B with some heavy panting in the background.

Yea, what Robicheaux does with such a small budget is impressive to those who REALLY KNOW college baseball. I think he'd be a perrenial power at a school with money. One of the best pitching coaches you'll find at the college level.

I would have To respectufully disagree. The Lady Cajuns have had FIVE CWS appearances. I mean, it's not like LSU would hire YG from a program that was in worse shape. Cajuns never missed a beat when she left.
Otherwise, she is still a really good coach people, (and she does not get props from Cajun fans very easily). Pitching is still the focal point of softball. (and LSU is in great shape) 1-0 scores and no hitters are actually pretty common for those of you who just tune into softball for postseason.
