I am not sure where this came from but, it is inaccurate. I have already been told that we have gas and oil. We are in the Golddonna area which is clearly outside of this drawing.

Thanks for your post. It must be realized that those of us that are out of state are not in the loop. Fortunately, the seismic company and some of the O&G guys off of the record so to speak are keeping us very informed now. When I got the call it was early in the game. We now have been educated on some of the laws in Louisiana. WE now have a mineral rights attorney who has told us what is fact and what is not. The funny thing is I was born in Louisiana and all of my relative still live ther with the exception of my brother. But, only one relative is connected to this property that lives in LA and he is not communicating. We have inherited this land from my Father and Mother with my Dad's recent passing. My Dad graduated and taught at LSU. But, I was shocked at the ugliness of the post by the folks. If my attorney was wrong I would have expected someone to help us out by telling us he was in error and not respond with ugly sarcasm. I can only repeat what we were told and accept it as fact until told otherwise. AS I said we do have an attorney that specializes in this area and we have good information coming from those willing to help. By the way it was confirmed that we do have it in our area but, I won't be posting any details or info for fear of negative responses. Thanks again. :nana:

My Dad graduated and taught at LSU in the late 50's and early 60's. I remember him taking me to see Mike the Tiger when I was a little girl. I married a BAMA fan and to keep peace for 23 years I converted. But, when in LA for the games I wear purple and gold.

Wow, which I could get as many responses about what is going on in WEst Nat as I got about a simple post on leasing land in La. First, the lawyer did a simple succession for us. I live out of state and who cares if I lease my land to hunters or not which I did not nor would I ever do irregardless of HS or not. Secondly, my post was in response to the ridiculous phone calls. This guy got the phone number some kind of way from my posting on this site. I live in Atlanta and he lives in Nat parish. My whole point was he did not call about hunting but wanted to lease my land from me and in turn lease it to an OandG company. Yes, I know who would not be able to own the mineral rights but, what this lawyer told me is if I gave him a lease to the land out right he could sublet the land to the O and G, Of course there would be clauses that could be put in that would not allow subletting. Again, I still think this character called for some other reason than hunting. There were too many other questions and like I said he got me off of this site. Now with all of this being said, I am not stupid or interesting in buying something from folks in La that think that I am. I am at a disadvantage because I am not in your state nor am I familiar with all of your antiquated laws. I appreciate you Just Bill for being a nice guy and giving me info all along. This post if meant primarily for those posts that follow yours. Thanks. :banghead:  :moon:

It is a liability issue. I do not want to be sued if a hunter shoots an O& G person or seismic person by accident.

According to our attorney in Louisiana if we had leased the land for hunting then we could not safely allow someone to enter the property thus tying it up.

I have had two people who called and wanted to lease our land for three years to hunt on it. It too was funny especially when I told him that I could not do so because of the HS. Then he began to spill it and asking questions about what I had heard for the area.

I read it on Haynesville shale site but, I went back just now to get the exact location so you all could see it and it has been removed. I found it strange also and that is why I asked if anyone on this site had heard of it.

No I totally understand, I would not want to handout free what I had to pay to learn. I really do not understand what I am asking. I see the post with townships mentioned and was just wondering what that means relative to the well sites etc. By the way, I have the range and Sec backwards, it is 12T,12Sec and 6 range. I dont know enough about it to know if that makes a big difference or if it is the township alone that is the determinant. Thanks for your response and any future help! :usa:

So there is no way to tell if you are in a certain township (T12,R12,Sec 6)where you are in relation to the strikes without paying an huge amount of money? Thanks for your help. :wah:

Yes, it was for you. He is a really nice guy and will tell you up front if he can help you or not. My brother is an attorney here in Atlanta and felt this guy is on the up and up. I am sure he can help you in Bossier he has clients everywhere in dealing with this stuff. Good luck! We are in North Natchitoches and are waiting for them to go "any day now" on our property.
