There are some good teams in the Pac10 this year, IMO

I hope there are, im tired of seeing USC walk through their conference. the only thing i would scratch my head at is--

-Oregon just lost their star tailback
-I didnt follow any of the Stanford game so idk
-And Maryland is a mid-pack team at best in the worst of the big 6 conferences.

im not necessarily disagreeng with you, but i think if its anyone it will be arizona state or cal....but the pac-10 as a whole still have to prove themselves to the rest of the country.

I don't know if its just me or not but if they were to make it big time, this is what a reunion tour might look like!

Did You watch them play? They looked damn good. They could have scored at least 2 more tds if they wanted to. I thought They were the most impressive looking team last weekend

yea, san jose state is a doozy.

but dont worry, pete carrol is good for at least one gigantic upset a season...sure theyll beat ohio state next week, but then theyll go and do what they always do.

lets see, stanford, ucla, cal, whos the next crappy pac-10 team to ruin USC's chances?

Everyone keeps talking about the good LB play.

Cutera played pretty well, but in the first half, when Polk got past the line of scrimmage nobody was ever there. He had 4 or 5 ten+ yard carries.

Maybe I missed it.

I agree, but one of my best friends, who is a huge tennessee fan, told me the one thing to expect is greatly improved linebacker play under chavis (this was the day he was hired). I kind of shrugged it off but when you look at the linebackers that have come out of the chavis system, i think that theres great things to come. it may not be this season, but once he impliments his style of defense and our athletes have a full grasp of it, that defense will once again be a force to reckon with.

Anyone else wondering how his other 2000 post went under the radar?

 word :rotflmao:
well...i hate to say it buddy, but we got him for another 3 years...but if he did, the lions are bound to pick him in the first round.

hey, i checked to see if anybody else posted this before i did lol
Of all the fuss going on about the BCS, im suprised no one has suggested expanding 10/11-team BCS conferences. Teams like Ohio State and USC consistantly win their conferences and are usually done by mid-november in some cases, while the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 have to sacrifice their championship hopes with an extra game. Now this year is more obvious than ever that the SEC and Big 12 are, to be quite frank, the shite while the PAC 2 and the Big 10 (aka ohio state/penn state) can barely hold the mountain wests jock strap (no offense to the Utah fans). Bottom line, there is a solution to this---
Utah and Boise State join the Pac 10, forcing a conference championship, and although unlikely...Notre Dame joind the big 10. If not ND, then some other solid mid west team. The Big East could get tough, but the BCS conferences should be able to pick and choose regional teams to improve competition and make a 12-team conference across the board.
Now i know this isn't all about football and i am by no means qualified to judge this decision on basketball/baseball/etc. But the beginnings of a new and imroved BCS that even the president of the US wants could take a step to start here.

I know it's like splitting hairs but if you take away 70 yards from UGA's total, we held Moreno under a hundred didn't we?

Florida.........yeah, they sure did.

Agree 100 percent. The story of suffering for the LSU defense is big plays. the D is terrible on paper but georgia built two solid drives into the redzone and if i remember correctly, florida did as well. the scores are a terrible reminder that big plays will cost you but if you take them away then we may possibly be 7-1 (didnt do much on offense against florida) Against georgia we were able to drive the ball but the gators showed how sloppy georgias defense actually was. i think if we prevent the big plays on defense we will still have a shot at a 10 win season (bowl game included). if not then i think we will just be building for next year.

""It's amazing Miles ever won at game at LSU""

come on guys, one of the best winning spans in lsu football and we call for his head after 2 losses? dont get me wrong, im as pist off as the next guy for these past few weeks but look at it logically. Florida is most likely going to destroy any team they play from now on with their newly discovered freshman talent, and georgia happened to hit a hot streak with stafford. yes, the defensive play in the florida and georgia games was the worst ive seen since the lou tepper days but on the bright side its just busted plays. In our two losses i think the opposing teams were able to build drives on us maybe 4 or 5 times combined, everything else was long runs/passes/ints for TD's etc. Bottom line, we prevent the busted plays in the secondary, the line play will win the game. show some optomism, its just not our year. even if we lose to bama, we can still salvage a 10 win season (if the bowl game is won of course).
im usually the last person to blame coaching, but the two headed monster at DC isnt working. the players have a great deal of respect for peveto (check spelling?) but i dont know too much about mallory so i wont say anything. as a huge fan of upbeat defensive coaches myself, there is only one cure for the sickness we have on defense and that is will muschamp. we should have picked him up last year when we had the chance. i think this is a rebuilding year at this point and we should be fine in the years to come.

as far as players for next year, watch out for ryan baker. he's a stud on the kickoff team and he has his own highlight reel of big hits on special teams alone. relax fellas, i think we'll be fine it should just be another year before we get back on top.
