I've always wondered why the NCAAF series has never used the actual names for the players. Is there some sort of policy preventing this from happening or what?
Yes there is. If we were to use their exact likeness and name we would owe them money for using their likeness. NCAA players making money would be against NCAA rules. So QB#15 from Florida is not Tim Tebow, its just a big QB who like to run people over
Also, everyone who has been on the cover of NCAA has done so after declaring for the Draft. Again, they get paid to be on the cover and cant make money while still in college. Thus, i can tell you Tim Tebow will not be on the cover this year.
Remember we will be at Free Speech Alley tomorrow from 11am-4pm. Come by and say hi or get more info about the job. I will be there from 2-4 if you want to come talk to me specifically for some reason.

since you guys only do testing... where can us gamers send comments about changes we would like to see in the games themselves? Is there someone out there we can send our comments to about the games or a website or anything? there are alot of games that EA makes that we have comments about.. particularly Madden, Tiger Woods, NBA Live, ETC....
you can send us an e-mail at eabatonrougeqa@gmail.com
We will look it over and send what we can to the corresponding teams working on those games. The producers spend a good amount of time in the early stages of development looking at message boards gathering feedback.

I'm very interested in this job, being that I graduate in December and will be staying in BR, but the LSU MBA program I'm joining doesn't begin until the Fall. I'm going to need a full time job until then, and ironically I'm very detail oriented when it comes to games, especially sports games. I usually spend the first couple of hours changing players around to be more accurate when I first get a new game like NCAA. I think I'd be perfect.
Sounds good, submit your resume to www.hiregoodpeople.com and we will give you a call. We will be ramping up our hiring efforts here shortly.
We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Have fun, be safe, and play some games
Correct. You have to boot up RB1 while connected online. At boot you will receive a message stating an update is available, allow the update to install.
Once its done you'll see a menu option that says Export songs. You then have to go through the process of purchasing the license for the songs then exporting the songs. Its very simple and the on screen instructions take you step by step. It should only take about 5 min for you to get it started and about another 10-15 min to download the songs.

Right now all testers must work a minimum of 18 hours per week. We only have 9 hours available per day right now. We are looking to add a 4th shift but that would only give you 12 hours in a day (3 hours shift blocks). If you can meet the min hours we would be interested in reading over your resumes and possibly bringing you and your friend in for an interview.
This also brings up a good point, and a topic we hear a lot. Being the best at a certain game does not necessarily translate into being a good tester. Being a good tester involves more than knowing which plays to run against certain defenses. There is a lot more to a game than gameplay. Knowing things like how long a blank screen can appear, how does MS like their controller referenced, how do you crash the game by pulling the controller while saving, how long can a loading screen take, etc. Those are just some of the simple examples.
I'm not saying someone who is good at the game is not going to make a good tester. There is just much more to testing. Ive seen both sides, some come in and learn to be an all around tester, some come in and play all day and do very poorly. A good tester is someone I can put on NCAA or Littlest Pet shop and they can find bugs in both without any problems.

Added this to our first post on Page 1, but thought it should be posted here.

Since I will be the main one posting on this account I figure its best to introduce myself. My name is Jackson and ive been with EA for almost 5 years now. I started as a QA tester at our Tiburon Studio in Orlando FL. I quickly moved up into management and have been a QA Project Lead for almost 4 years now. Ive worked on titles such as NCAA Football, Madden, NASCAR, Fight Night, SimCity, Time Splitters, Army of Two, NCAA Baseball, and others.
I moved out here to Baton Rouge just before Gustav and have loved every moment of it. If you see us out dont hesitate to come up and introduce yourself, im always down to discuss sports, games, cars, whatever.
You may see some other employees posting on here from time to time, but generally it will be me.
Quick Note, I know nothing of this game other than what I read on GameSpot and industry experience.
This game and Rock band will be similar, but not so much that it could be called an expansion pack. Think of it like the difference between Madden, NCAA, and AFL. All Football games, all different and wouldnt be called expansion packs of one another.

The only connection between Rock Band and this game are the companies working on it and its a rythem based game.
GameSpot Article
It will use the Rock Band Equipment but not be a Rock band game. The Beatles do not fit in with the way the Rock Band game is set up. It will be a game entirley based on their collection of work. It will also use the imagery of their music and movies in the game.
Expect more than just an expansion pack.

Testing is more about finding bugs than designing the game. The producers usually hold Play Tests for feedback on features that are geared to the core demographic of the title.
Part of our agreement with TigerDroppings is that the forum will get first access to any play test we set up here at the NATC.

LSU NCAA Basketball Block Party
Posted by EA NATC on 10/29/08 at 9:38 am
Hey guys, sorry for the short notice but today is the NCAA Block Party on LSU's Campus from 11:30am to 1:30pm on Tower Drive near the Student Union. This is put on by the LSU Athletic Department and is an opportunity to meet the new LSU Basketball coaches, the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, the Cheerleaders and Tiger Girls. Free food and drinks will be provided.
We will be out there with consoles set up to let people play some EA games. This would be a good opportunity to come out and get more information about the job as well if you are interested. There will also be contests to win LSU and EA prizes.

really? A feature thats easily set to "off" is the reason you didn't get madden?
Correct, the feature is easily turned off. Also it is designed for gamers who are not at the highest skill level. Its a tool to be used for learning how to run a play correctly, especially after Collinsworth explains what you did wrong. Playing on All Madden automatically turns off rewinds.

Would you pay more grad students than undergrads? Say about 10/hr? The reasoning being that Law/MBA, etc. students have developed greater skills at paying attention to what's important and filtering out what's not?
The position we are hiring for is QA Tester which pays $7.50 an hour. While it wont increase starting pay, the skill set you described will help you move ahead in the position and provide better opportunity for advancement.

What are you testing? I want in on the new Bioware MMORPG, no pay required.
Right now its Madden, NCAA, and Tiger. We will be picking up some non sports titles here in the next couple weeks, cant say what those are right now.

I will be applying very soon. Seems like it's going to be hard to get hired with the large amount of potential applicants inquiring about this. Is there anything in particular that you guys are looking for?
Like Ive said, we will move through all the apps we currently have by the end of the year. You may not get a call within 24 hours of submitting your app, but it shouldnt be too long. A good tester is someone who has a good eye for details, can think outside the box, and has good communication (written and verbal)

This is awesome. And the backlash from some isn't warranted on this thread IMO. I'm just pumped that this testing facility is in Baton Rouge. Mad props to BR and EA.
Thanks for the support, were used to the haters so it doesn't affect us much. We do welcome honest feedback.

We received quite a few resumes around that time and we have been sifting through all of them. As I stated earlier we are not hiring at our normal rate right now, and will be picking it up at the first of the year.
If you send me an email to eabatonrougeqa@gmail.com with your name ill have our recruiter make sure we received your application.
