Not in my current area but the murder that will always stand out the most for me is the Kipp Gullett murder in Baton Rouge in 92. I lived in the apartments at the end of S Kenilworth, my neighbor found Kipp's body in the field where he was executed there at Burbank. That murder will always haunt me just because it was right there and I was only a year or two older than Kipp, just can't imagine those final hours for him.

I sat in on an annual LSU Alumni Conference many years ago and someone made a comment about being a "Diploma carrying Alumnus" and Dr. Charlie Roberts quickly corrected them and shared that LSU considers you an Alumni on day one and the common incorrect misunderstanding is a battle they had been fighting for years and knew it would be fought for years to come, here we are almost 30 years later and seems nothing has changed.
I copied the following from the LSU ONLINE site today.

I was home sick from school that day. My step dad worked at Stennis Space Center so watching the launch was always a given in our house. Never forget laying on the couch and thinking - "did I really just see that?", then there was the silence for what seemed like forever.

I just ordered two LSU hats from Branded Bills and flat bill was an option on both but that was a big hell no for me, I'm a man, I'm FIFTY THREE! (not tree fiddy)
