re: Under Armour Game vs Army AA game

The move to the Citrus Bowl and all the coverage by ESPN has already put the UA game ahead of the AAA game in just its 2nd year.

Put that with the eternal question; Where would you rather spend a week San Antonio or Orlando?

(and that answer includes parents and families) I had trouble even finding a decent Margarita there (SA), last year

I thought it was 'illegal' to make any kind of physical contact with a recruit

So she can't shake your hand, pat you on the shoulder, etc.

I don't think perching on a knee in a crowded room is exactly like a lap dance, do you?
Coaches may hang around on the outside of the fence during practices. It's also possible they could get "bumped into" at The Alamo or DisneyWorld.

BUT they will NOT be there during the UA game for sure. Them being in hte stands would constitute a "visit" with EVERY kid in the game or in the stands.

They will NOT attend.

All this is made worse by the fact that you can't pay for the parent's trip unless they drive in.

An Early "official visit" (during spring ball) followed by an early signing period would work.

Why is everyone in love with 5 star players?
I would rather a team full of players like Hester that are "coachable" and are hardnose, bust you in the mouth, play 4 quarters type players than a Johnny 5 star

Because those attributes are NOT mutually exclusive.

You CAN be tough as hell and be a 5* OR you can be the biggest prima-donna on the planet and be a 2*

Actually MANY of the early enrollees play in the All Star games and then go off to college.

He IS in the UA / ESPN game. That game IS stepping it up. Here are some of the improvements.

1) It will be held in the Citrus Bowl this year (instead of some dinky HS field)
2) It will he televised Sunday night 8pm Eastern. AFTER the 2 NFL wildcard games.
3) They are adding a combine to the event (helps with continuity and development)
4) ESPN has more money than god and will hype this game non-stop for the week before the game, they also show 2 hours of the practices and competitions daily in the week leading up to the game.

This game is already the premier event in just its second year. That gap should continue to widen.

I mean where do you wnat to be the first week of the year? San Antonio or Orlando? No brainer right?

Xavier Su'a Filo's Timpview team taking on John Martinez's Cottonwood team for the State Championship today at 2:30.

Timpview is 12-0 and has the state record for most victories in a row at 35 entering this game. Cottonwood is 13-0 itself. It's only the 18th time 2 undefeated schools have played for a state championship in all of the five classifications.

From the local paper, Martinez wore LSU eye black patches in last week's game.

I'd really like to get the best linemen possible. Towards that, does anyone else see Xavier SuaFilo and John Martinez showing up in Baton Rouge this next summer???

Do we have room? Do we want them? They look fast and athletic to me but I usually just watch the ball.
