Another seized shadow fleet vessel, this time by the Italians.

The ship, registered under the flag of a small Pacific island, was found to have falsified documents to hide a stop in the Russian port of Novorossiysk, which is under EU sanctions.
The Guardia di Finanza and customs officials confirmed the vessel’s route using satellite data and navigation records. The seizure was carried out under EU Regulation 833/2014, which enforces sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

Overall, 83% believe Russia’s objectives are broader than simply taking full control of Donbas;
- 77% believe that although Russia is advancing in the war zones, it is doing so slowly and at heavy cost, and that Ukraine is capable of continuing to resist (only 12% consider Ukraine’s resistance hopeless);
- 69% do not believe the current talks will lead to a lasting peace (the main reason cited is Russia’s unwillingness to make peace and its desire to continue the war against Ukraine). Only 26% believe they will;
- 54% firmly reject the proposal to hand all of Donbas over to Russia in exchange for security guarantees from the US and Europe. 39% would agree but only with substantial security guarantees;
- 55% support holding a referendum on a peace deal, while 32% oppose it;
- 57% expect that even if the war is frozen along the current front line and accompanied by security guarantees, Russia will still try to attack again (only 11% believe it would not);
- 59% believe that in the event of another Russian attack, Europe would provide all necessary support. Confidence in the US is lower: 39% believe the US would help;
- 60% view the possibility of online voting in elections negatively (and when discussed in the context of potential fraud, negative views rise to 71%). In other words, Ukrainans still have no illusions regarding Russia's intentions in this war.

Wow, if true, that was fast. At least they didn't go with the tenth floor window or 'suicide'. If this is accurate, his father had better head for the bunker. If the kid dies, the funeral will be incredible.

If this is accurate, it's a major escalation in the war against the Russian shadow tanker trade. The US took control of another tanker in the Caribbean, which was the sixth tanker seized by the US. And now this.
The Russians have no choice but to defend these tankers with Ru navy assets. Each tanker will have to be escorted while in the Baltic. At the least.

Photo confirms earlier report of this vessel sinking. The grey smoke coming from between cargo holds 3 and 4 is curious but more to the point, it looks like the engine spaces are flooding. Which would prevent access to the ballast pumps and sea chest valves. To say nothing of the hole in the hull...
If there is watertight integrity in the ballast and cargo spaces and they can tow it to a port with a dry dock, they may save it. But bottom line, the Russians won't be using this vessel again for the foreseeable future.
