In a 9 inning game, once Italy gets to 4 runs the USA is in. Mexico would have to get to 5 to beat them at that point.

I was a UT Student during the Lady Vols 3 peat run with 2 HoF players and a HoF legend coach. They routinely got beat by the college guy practice squad that they scrimmaged against. They had joint exhibitions with the men's team, so we got to watch this at Thompson Boiling.
