"his south louisiana episode when he attended that boucherie was outstanding and i thought did the area justice."
That was GREAT episode. I believe he called it one of the greatest meals he had ever eaten.

re: Why Do People Here Think Cecil Collins [Was] Better Than Jeremy Hill?
Posted by Kingfish58 on 1/12/14 at 9:37 am to cajunjj
Having watched both of them play, I distinctly thought after the Iowa game that Hill's performance in that game was very reminiscent of Collins. A combination of speed and power that's rare and impressive.
As for who is better, I'm in the Collins body of work is too brief camp. Everything else is "what could have been". Injury, arrest record, ACT scores, whatever. Peak performance over time is hard and I do not discount it.

re: Looking for help on why LSU fell off in 1974, Veer etc

"Take the Time Travel Worm Hole forward from the 70's to present. What's changed? Good, but not great."
What's changed: In 1974 we were 16 years removed from playing for a national championship.
We're currently two years removed from our last title game, 2nd time in 5 years. CMac never came close.

re: Rickey Jackson - 1st Saint elected to the Hall of Fame!!!!

Anyone who watched him play knows this was well deserved. Rickey had an insane sack total and I believe he held the record for recovering fumbles, indicating how he was always around the ball. He was an intimidating prescence throughout his career and I always felt he was responsible for the success of the Dome Patrol. Swilling was the speed guy, Mills was the defensive Q-back and run stopper, Johnson was a tackling beast, but Rickey did it all. And he did it all before the rest of them got there on some very bad teams.
I recall reading that sack totals weren't accurately kept early in his career so his total might be even higher.

The "Go Saints Go" cheer when it was apparent they were going to break Tampa Bay's 26 game losing streak.

My dad for sure.
He bought season tickets on a meager income for the entire family in 1967, turning all of us into lifelong suffering fans. Throughout it all he kept up a "this could be the year" attitude.
When he was in the hospital towards the end in 1995, he heard my brother and I discussing the upcomining Saints season with the same perrennial optimism and cut us off, saying the Saints will never be good and we shouldn't have false hopes. We knew then that his situation was grave.
I've thought about him alot recently and wish he could be here to see this. He'd have a hellluva time.
