I agree, not only the long layoffs. The auto bids or just as much at fault.
If you need 3 weeks and 5 days to recover, the rest of the team will suffer. 1-7

Top 4 seed teams this year had 3 weeks and 5 days off. That much time off does not benefit a team. No byes, top 16, 1vs.16, 2vs15, and so on. I would go as far as no automatic bids, teams aren't loyal to conferences anyway, it has only caused controversy and mismatches. AP poll, coaches poll, use a power poll, no committee, to pick top 16.

No need for either, they already get a bye week, some teams get two. Top 16 teams, AP, coaches poll, and a power poll. 8 games, 4, 2, 1. The team ranked 17, 18 has no argument of why they were left out.
I'd have to disagree. They played grown man football tonight.
