re: A visit to Sears with Mom in 1977

Wore Sears Toughskin jeans to school for a few years.

Sears always had good billiard balls and ping pong paddles

You could buy shoes, clothes, electric football and a socket set all in one visit.

Anyone else work-out on bags with Fight Camp? I really enjoy their work outs, training paths, cardio, core, stretch, etc.
Privileges and courtesies

The Medal of Honor confers special privileges on its recipients:

Each Medal of Honor recipient may have his or her name entered on the Medal of Honor Roll (10 U.S.C. § 1134a and 38 U.S.C. § 1562) so long as they qualified for the medal under modern statutory authority.
Each person whose name is placed on the Medal of Honor Roll is certified to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs as being entitled to receive a monthly pension above and beyond any military pensions or other benefits for which they may be eligible. The pension is subject to cost-of-living increases; as of December 1, 2023, it is $1,671.16 a month.
Enlisted recipients of the Medal of Honor are entitled to a supplemental uniform allowance.
Recipients receive special entitlements to air transportation under the provisions of DOD Regulation 4515.13-R. This benefit allows the recipient to travel as deemed fit, as well as allows the recipient's dependents to travel either overseas–overseas, overseas–continental U.S., or continental U.S.–overseas when accompanied by the recipient.
Special identification cards and commissary and exchange privileges are provided for Medal of Honor recipients and their eligible dependents.
Recipients are granted eligibility for interment at Arlington National Cemetery, if not otherwise eligible.
Fully qualified children of recipients are automatically nominated to any of the United States service academies.
Recipients receive a ten percent increase in retired pay.
Those awarded the medal after October 23, 2002, receive a Medal of Honor Flag. The law specified that all 103 living prior recipients as of that date would receive a flag.I
Recipients receive an invitation to all future presidential inaugurations and inaugural balls.
As with all medals, retired personnel may wear the Medal of Honor on "appropriate" civilian clothing. Regulations specify that recipients of the Medal of Honor are allowed to wear the uniform "at their pleasure" with standard restrictions on political, commercial, or extremist purposes (other former members of the armed forces may do so only at certain ceremonial occasions).
Forty states offer a special license plate for certain types of vehicles to recipients at little or no cost to the recipient. The states that do not offer Medal of Honor specific license plate offer special license plates for veterans for which recipients may be eligible.
In 1969, the Nebraska State Legislature amended the Nebraska Hall of Fame statutes "to provide that Nebraskans awarded the Medal of Honor shall be named to the Hall of Fame" and required that the Hall of Fame Commission procure a plaque with the names of the Medal of Honor recipients.

Southern Hotel in downtown Covington is great.

Walking to Mattina Bella for breakfast or brunch/lunch is great and highly rated.

Some quaint places to visit/browse/shop, including the place behind M B. The art supply store is very impressive, whether you're into art or not.

Great weekend dinner/live music restaurant choices still right near hotel.

You could stay in Covington on foot all weekend...the Reagan statue, Acquistipace grocery, so many good eats...Cafe Rani, New Orleans Wine & Spirits, etc, etc...and the great ice cream place where you watch your huge cone being made!

The lakefront in Mandeville is a nice drive, with good eateries and walking along the lake.

Liz's where yat dinner is a good breakfast/brunch/lunch place too.

re: Torn Meniscus Question

Had 1/2 of medial meniscus removed from knee with arthroscopy 20 years ago. It had been torn and was loose, bending over itself, etc...very painful about 50% of the time and dull pain the rest of the time.

Arthroscopy was outpatient and recovery was not bad. Full recovery at 3-4 weeks. Activity was not limited after surgery...I could participate without pain.
Buy American!

Checks for folks are dumb and won't help.
Both 30. I think that's a good age.

Sexton represents him in contracts for work (Disney/ESPN), product endorsements (Aflac, etc.), appearance fees, speaking engagements...everything basically. As some have said, that's what agents do.
Audibly berating players with profanity, etc.

Comments about players.

Berating members of the media.

Criticizing the fans expectations.

Lack of improvement on the field during his tenure...even regression.
Especially being unable to control the line of scrimmage.

Other things.

These things, individually and collectively, harm the brand and the school/State reputation.
In modern times, the Celtics 1980 trade with Golden State, although at the time it seemed reasonable.

Parish came in the trade, along with the #3 overall pick, which the Celtics used to draft McHale. The Warriors received picks that they used on ultimate busts.

Auerbach had a history of pulling off lopsided. trades. Bill Russell was acquired this way.

He was never a big play extender who could take over a game. Too much hype going into this season and too much blame on him now. With a good oline and time to throw, a running game to take some pressure off and setup runs, and some separation downfield with several guys who can "go get it," he's very good. With current drop offs in these areas and less talent around him, he's not as effective.
Why? He stayed loyal and came back and the coaches put him with the 1st team. He's done nothing wrong!

They can't put together a running game, the O-line struggles and guys get little separation downhill. His abdomen hurts with every move reportedly, worse when he throws, even hindering his motion.

This team was overrated all year and tried smoke and mirrors, but it caught up with them. Say hi to 8-4 at best.
You nailed Delp. He was tremendous and would smile all the way through. See my Maryanne walking away...

Heart - Alone

Bryan Adams - Heaven, Everything I Do...

Def Lep. - Animal

These 3 have numerous power pop ballads/songs and still play them on tour.
It is beyond ridiculous that Bryan Adams is not in the Hall of Fame. He certainly represented well for Joe Cocker's and Bad Company's legacies. I think he should have topped the list of inductees this year, rather than again topping the list of non-inductees. Hall of Famers open for him on tour...Geezzuuss!!
