Beer there was pretty good.

That was my takeaway as well. Food was fine, beer was good. Sucks to lose another business but I would only ever go there if I needed something quick before an event. Microbrewery is a tough market these days and I bet the lease for that space is astronomical.
Think I’m pivoting from my usual half marathon on 1/25 to the 10 mile race in Kenner on 1/24. Bummer to not go and crush a 13.1 PR, but just too much work getting the family to Gulf Shores. 10 mile could be fun and if I’m in the shape I think I’m in, I could get a podium spot at this one.
Mid 30s at the start…hmm…personally, I’d probably would go shorts/half tights, a short sleeve shirt, gloves. Everyone is different though. If you’re running 1:50+ pace, maybe a long sleeve shirt or light pullover.

How so? You think Trump is lying, and instead the Fed project is actually priced and above board?

Are you really this dense?

I was simply pointing out that you are upset and accuse JPow of lying, but literally all Trump and his admin does is lie.
quote:

You think the Chairman of the Fed lying is "hilarious"?

No, it’s hilarious your presumption that the Fed chair is lying is what has you so miffed when the man indirectly behind the subpoenas entire playbook is lying.

He responded by falsely claiming on national TV the DOJ was threatening to indict him. That set a false narrative still being carried in the press and in Congress 4 days later (look no further than the OP thread title).

The DOJ subpoened The Fed. Based on recent DOJ actions, I don’t think it’s a stretch that the subpoena is a thinly veiled threat of an indictment. Not sure how that creates a false narrative…they indicted Letitia James on something arguably more petty.
quote:

Powell is a lawyer. He lied. He knew he was lying

This is hilarious considering who the other side of this spat is. If lying is where you draw the line in the sand, you may want to do some fact checking on your president and his cronies.
11 days from my race, both my girls woke up snotty this morning. Yall pour one out for me baws.

1. All of the remodel is paid for by Trump and donors. No taxpayer money spent

That’s what he’s telling us, we will see 1) if it holds out to be true and 2) if that project stays at or under budget (I bet it won’t).

quote:

2. It is the new Air Force 1. He’s leaving it when he departs the White House

There is already a new AF1 being built. He got impatient and saw an opportunity for someone to kiss his arse so he took the donation and it’s going to cost billions to re-fit on top of the billions already being spent on the one under construction.

They really thought investigating a weasel like Powell would be detrimental to market performance….lol

No, we just think it’s stupid and baseless and a waste of time/money. Remember when Trump used to lambast the “weaponized” DOJ?
4 Americans under 60 minutes. Feel like
Houston is becoming the go-to go-fast race for elites.

Side note: starting my half marathon taper this week. Peak mileage was 51 last week, not sure how I should reduce volume or structure workouts. Thinking I want a 10 day taper so tentative plan is:
1/12: 6 easy
1/13: 12 x hill sprints (7 miles total)
1/14: 5 easy
1/15: 25 minutes @ race pace (6 miles total)
1/16: 5 easy
1/17: 10 (7.5 easy/2.5 tempo)
39 miles for the week

1/19: 6 easy
1/20: 4 x 1k intervals @ race pace (6 miles total)
1/21: 5 easy
1/22: 4 easy
1/23: rest
1/24: 3 easy
1/25: race
24 miles excluding race

That seem reasonable?
quote:

The amount spent was staggering and an example of governmental stupidity

Trump would have more of a leg to stand on with this if he hadn’t just bulldozed 1/4 of the White House for a ballroom and accepted a 747 as a “gift” that will cost billions to re-fit. Lunacy and hypocrisy. I really don’t understand how anyone can support these losers.
Trump is a dipshit and either demented or stupid or, most likely, both.

take up cycling. Much easier on the joints and if you get serious enough you can cover a lot of ground in a short time

Full disclosure, I like cycling.

Not sure how I forgot Ben. Ben and JJ are probably the two I use the most for strength. I really liked Daniel McKenna back in the day, wish they would’ve kept his catalog.

Really love those classes, specifically Andy, Adrian and Rebecca.

JJ, Logan (non-tabata), and Adrian are my go-to’s. Rebecca is good too, her core classes are always so damn hard.

Would have to catch the runner first
Build a base for any endurance sport/race? No. But once a week is better than zero per week.
Have never heard of the lotion, sounds like snake oil.

Edit: def snake oil, google it. How is a topical bicarb supposed to absorb to your blood? Doesn’t even logically make sense to me.

Bicarb is real and has real benefits, the problem has always been how to ingest it without shitting yourself. To my knowledge, Maurten is one of the only ones to crack it successfully.

To be honest though, outside of doping or natural athletic ability, I don’t think there is a magic bullet for endurance sport performance and most of these things like bicarb, beetroot, codiceps, etc will net very very marginal gains…if anything at all.
