Are there any places in Baton Rouge or is the internet and postage the place to look?

That's what I told the "adviser" lady when I went to upgrade my checking account. But then it got me thinking.

Transfer student loans to Credit Card

Posted by Hdstng09 on 2/28/12 at 10:03 am
I am pre-qualified for a Capital One Credit Card 0%Intro APR until May 2013; 0% Intro APR Transfer; $0 Annual Fee
Would it be wise to move $5000 worth of student loans with 6% interest to the card? The card WILL be paid off before May 2013.

At least tell me he was hanging around a group of does. Offspring would be nice. Hopefully he was shot because he was chasing.

Now that I think about it, I did shoot a doe last year at the foot of my box stand as I was getting down. Just stepped off the ladder and see three does and 6 point scream across the plot. Two does stopped and looked at me and bam...'down goes doe'

How long do you generally hunt for?

This past Saturday morning my phone died right around 9:00 am. Did not see the first sign of a white tail so, I got out of the stand and started walking back to the camp. I started thinking, if my pawpaw only knew I was headed back to camp because my phone died, I would never hear the end of it.

Sorry dude - got that one the other nite about 11:30 off your place. That's why he's not coming back around

Send the pics brotha.

Way far away
No high fence, moderately managed, lots of food. We are doing something right.
This beast showed it's face three nights in a row then vanished.
All I can say is holy shite, that's a man.

I didn't believe at first either.
Well, I was going to give my .02 cents but no need. Looks like all has been covered.

I do have a short bungee cord with two hooks clamped on I keep in my backpack. Wrap that sum-bitch around a tree for hanging crapola.

Deer hunters - Skinning knife

Posted by Hdstng09 on 10/19/11 at 1:08 pm
My idea of the ideal skinning knife is a short fixed blade with no grip (or removable grip). Shorter blade makes it easy to get into the small openings without puncturing any internals and no grip for easy cleaning.
Last week I used a buddy's Izula ( LINK) to clean a deer and have not picked up a better knife.

What do you use?

Arrow length is important...Ouch!

This photo was taken on a cell phone last week after the guy took his friend to Bass Pro Shop to buy his first bow. The clerk was 'assisting' him in zeroing it in, and, after shooting several arrows, making adjustments etc., the clerk accidently handed him an arrow that was too short. When he drew back, the arrow tip fell down onto his hand and he somehow released it. They rode to the hospital with the bow in his buddy's hand because it impaled his finger also! They are both archery amateurs (I'm thinking the clerk is also?). I don't think the guy who got shot ever had held a bow prior, let alone shoot one...OUCH!

What's with the sandy soil? Either that's a big arse pile of rice bran or you hunt near the Amite

re: How did yall do this weekend?

Posted by Hdstng09 on 10/10/11 at 10:38 am to
A nice Washington Parish hog Thursday evening, a nice Washington Parish doe Friday morning and a pork burrito from Izzos Saturday at some point.
Last winter I was driving home at 4 in the morning and smoked a doe on Pecue ln right off highland road. My roomate came home around 6 and found deer hair on my headlights. He woke my arse up and we found her about 10 yards off the road.

what about cigarette smoke??? always been curious if that affected deer

My opinion is that once you spook a deer with the scent of cigarette engraved in his head, it will haul arse anytime the smell lingers.
