re: UDub vs Appy St.

I'm with Lawdawg on this one.
As an alum, I've followed the Dawgs long enough to see an Orange Bowl win (85 Oklahoma Sooner Schooner infamy), a few Rose Bowl wins most recently 2000) and a share of the National title in '91. Appy fans would never understand what we do, and LSU fans do, what kind of a team it takes to be on top of college football. We'll withhold the delusional expectations until we see progress on the field. We'll know it when we see it.
Most of us think we are pointed in the right direction with a steep hill to climb.

Tigerwatch, downtown is relatively tame at most hours, even late....streets are well lit, etc., so you shoud be fine.
If it got past midnight / 1am, and was stomping around in Pioneer Square, or 1st Ave (Belltown), I would personally opt for a cab over the bus...

TigerFan 34, i know exactly where you are staying on Lake Union. If you are married to Sushi, and a good value at that, i would highly recommend Ototo Sushi on top of Queen Anne hill, near the corner of Queen Anne Ave N and N Boston Street....it's very good, and very 'neighborhood'.
A short cab from S. Lake union. I eat alot of Sushi in Seattle, and for the $, it's hard to beat. Good luck, and enjoy your trip.

TigerWatch, after midnight you're fine on either the link light rail (from the airport), or the Metro bus service (throughout the city) assuming you are downtown-ish?
By and large, there only a couple isolated areas of Seattle metro I would avoid using public transit to get 'to and from' at late hours. I am guessing, chances are remote you are staying in those areas.

Tiger 55, if you are dragging a cooler, and your booze is in a 'non'transparent cup, you are fine. Go to the local store, buy some LSU purple or gold cups, and you'll be fine.
Walk around with a bottle of JD in your right hand, and you could have issues.
It's all about being, 'discreet'. I have been attending games / drinking at games for 25 years, (with a cup) and never had a problem.
Be 'discreet' and you're 'golden'.

based on this board, it looks that way.
I would guess Oklahoma brought about 10K last year, and Ohio State represented well the year before, probably also 10K.
If i were planning the bus from DT Seattle, I'd use the Metro Bus website link below. Type in where you'll be, where you're going (UW), what time you want to leave / get there, and it will tell you the route # and where to grab the bus.

On a different note, any LSU fans who may be in Canada and traveling down the day of game, i'd plan for 2+ hours wait to cross the border into the US. I came back from a weekend at Whistler two weekends ago, and my wait was 80 minutes (at the main crossing in Blaine / Peace Arch). Traffic will probably be heavier labor day weekend in both directions (canada bound and US bound).

Even the intra-city rides are free, it doesn't need to be from a park and ride, although the park and rides i believe are express (direct shot to stadium, no stops).
If you were already in the city, say at a hotel downtown, just find the route / stop that goes to UW / Husky stadium, jump on the bus, flash the ticket for a free ride. It probably won't be an express (will stop along the way), but it gets you there. When I've taken it, i've jumped on in Fremont, and got off on the west side of campus. A couple routes may change or not be available on gameday, but that info is easy to find (at a hotel).

JerseyTiger, yes, i have a couple times, it's not a bad way to go, albeit i'm on Queen Anne hill, so UW is just a few stops away. I typically ride my bike and chain up to my buddy's rig for tailgating.
I know there are alot of express buses to the stadium on game day, and the rides are free (I think) if you flash your game ticket. Dropoff is typically right in front of the stadium on Montlake Ave, and they are all parked on Montlake in the same spot for after the game.
If i were driving in, i would try the parking lots in the southwest part of campus, just west of the Medical Center, if i didn't have a parking pass already.

LSU Bob, you should do ok finding a friendly Husky tailgate.
I suggest starting at E12 (go to washington.edu and look for parking map...it is the lot immediately adjacent to the stadium on the south side, and is closest to where the party boats dock).
Also, new this year, UW is starting something called 'The Zone' which will basically be tents set up on a practice field immediately behind the large scoreboard (between the scoreboard and the lake). There will be beer / wine, not sure about the hard stuff. Entrance is free, and you may still actually be able to rent a tent and have it catered.....it's try gohuskies.com or call the AD department for info on 'The Zone'.
For Oklahoma last year, and Ohio State the year before, they were all over the place in E12 lot.
Good luck.
