Big deal. Nothing will change. Why?
Miles does this:
While Saban or Holt will chew out his players and let it be known they they're doing things improperly, or just not giving a solid effort.
To be honest, we need more energy and fire on the sideline from the coaches. That kind of attitude is infectious.
Miles does this:
quote:
"I can tell you I'm not happy with him and I hope he's not happy," Miles said. LSU (3-0) should basically consider its next game - in Starkville against Mississippi State this Saturday - its first.

I think it's funny people even think we could hang with Florida.
Not trying to be negative, but given the way we're playing, Bama and Florida would shred us.
If we played UF tomorrow, they would be a 20 point favorite.

Since when is Vandy not a weak opponent? They lost by double digits to MSU.

Addict, we couldn't break 330 yards of offense against ULL...
Remember over the summer? JJ, Shepard, Lafell, Toliver, Randle, Scoot, Keiland...how would ANYONE stop our offense!!
So much for that.

So who thought Alabama, with a new QB and new O line, would have a more prolific offense than us this year?

Brian, are you an LSU student?
This thread makes my browser cry.

LSU - 17
Mississippi State - 10
Mississippi State - 10

(or even through bull rush) by mediocre D ends
Couldn't believe that when I saw it. Black getting run over by a ULL DE, only to eventually take JJ down in the process.
Now that was pathetic.

This team has taken on the demeanor of their coaches.
Lethargic, in no rush, no passion, no energy.
Watch the USC - Washington game from yesterday. Nick Holt was running up and down the sideline and was yelling, jumping, throwing his arms in the air. A TO was called in the 2nd half, and he goes right up to a players facemask and starts screaming into his face at the top of his lungs.
During a commercial break, Sark had the team on the sidelines jumping up and down, going crazy.
That energy, that attitude that the coaches bring obviously rolls over to the players on the field, as we saw against Washington when they played us, and as we saw yesterday when they beat USC.

Yeah, a good #3....and #4, and #5 for all those 5 wide sets we run.
What happens when one of them gets hurt?
They depth is NOT there.

No, they didn't.
They knew they could have had RR or Benton.
They chose RR.

Have you seen how much trouble RR is having?

Fluco, wake up. He wouldn't.
But he would be a 4 star, big time recruit with a year of the system under his belt going into next year.
We didn't need him for this year.
We needed him for next year and beyond.

Here's part of the stupidity. We've averaged a top 5 class the past few years. You're retarded
There are two levels of successful recruiting.
1. Top players
2. Filling needs
- Passing on CM, DS, and Byrd
leave huge holes and inexperience
for those positions in 2010.
quote:
You know this how? Have you seen him play a lot in college? We picked up Chris Davenport, Josh Downs, and a 4 star Juco Defensive tackle. All were higher on our board than Sentimore due to concerns about him qualifying. I think we did ok.
Hicks = huge bust. You obviously aren't very in tune with what is really going on with our D-line.
quote:
As much as I'd like to have gotten CM, do you think any RBs would be committing to us this year if they had that in front of them on the depth chart? Something tells me we'll be just fine with the guys we have, and I can't imagine a scenario where having CM on the team would mean the dfifference between a win and a loss. So I'm gonna go ahead and say NOT a huge loss.
It's a loss. Next year - Murphy (coming off a season ending injury...), Michael Ford (who will have 0 game experience when we open with UNC), Spencer Ware (QB in high school, true freshman). And who else? Seastrunk is hardly a lock.
Now throw CM in there, a 5 star recruit with a year in the system. All of a sudden, that gives you a little security in the backfield for next year.
You can keep ignoring the issues. If we offered CM, he's here. If we recruit LaRon, he's here. Having both here now, learning the system, to be ready to go next year would have been huge.
Just wait until 2011.
People will start to realize what is happening when half of the LA players for 2011 with committable offers from LSU go out of state.
Although most here will sweep it aside and neglect to look at what is really happening.

quote:
So, I'm guessing other teams don't make mistakes with the guys they are recruiting each year?
I'm sure a lot do. But do you want to put us on the same level as "other" teams?
Is LSU going to remain dominant, or will continue to make "slip ups" like this on the recruiting front and just dissolve into one of those "other" teams?
Why is this a stupid post?
If anything is stupid, it's the way we've been recruiting the past few years.
Passing on Sentimore = HUGE loss.
Passing on CM = HUGE loss (seriously, imagine the backfield next year with MF, RM, and CM, along with the freshman backs).
Byrd = Another HUGE loss. Imagine LaRon, Toliver, and Randle as the starting 3 next year.
Losing these 3 were huge. Period. And if we start to make mistakes like this year in and year out, it will bring us down.

I'm sure we will with big time recruits like Dexter Blackmon plugging the holes...

Oh and there was this guy named Russel Sheppard, I heard he was pretty good.
Ford is one person. By he start of the 2010, he will have 0 game experience.
Reuben Randle is one person. By the start of the 2010 season, he will have very limited experience.
Shepard's role is still undefined.
That isn't "depth" or "experience".

I think in the back of their minds, most LSU fans can feel it happening, even if they would never admit it.

Or is it next year? We'll have huge holes to fill with WR, RB, and LB. Throw UNC and West Virginia onto the schedule, along with Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, and Ole Miss.
I think we all know Miles is a bit goofy. And yeah, he doesn't manage games well, and isn't an "X's and O's" coach.
But he recruits well, right?
Perhaps. But just because Miles recruits a few top players doesn't mean he is filling needs. We have huge D-line issues. Our D-line just isn't what it was 2-3+ years ago. The fact that we have one DT for 2010 who has one collegiate offer (us...) doesn't give me a lot of confidence.
If and when we lose 4 games this year, seriously, how are you going to feel about this program? Keeping in mind the holes we have to fill next year, along with a difficult schedule, we could see 3 straight seasons with 4 or more losses.
That is hardly "dominant".

I'm tired of hearing this. It's not true. And even if it was, it sure as hell wasn't effective last year.
