re: Why are we playing 4 games every weekend?
Posted by gar90 on 3/3/26 at 9:18 am to Barkbowwow
We play a 56 game season, which means there are 2 weeks every year with 5 games. This is the first time I remember Monday games, but usually we'd do a tuesday/wednesday midweek thing. We are getting those 5 game weeks out of the way super early this year to be done with them.

Guess my TMobile phone is still fricked in the stadium

Its the equivalent of MLB starting extra innings with a runner on 2nd, or NCAA football starting with the ball on the 25 yard line. It's meant for quick offense to end a tied game quickly. For regular season, I have zero problems with it. Nobody wants their star player hurt because a hockey game is in the 108th minute of game 58 on the season. But for playoffs, or big tournament championships, I'd rather see 5 on 5 "real hockey." 3 on 3 is fun as hell to watch, but it's not the same game.
I will say, maybe for the Olympics with NHL players, 3 on 3 is what the NHL wants. Again, nobody wants their best player getting hurt and then can't come back to their pro team. You, me, and the players all see the Olympics as a legitimate championship, but I'm sure the NHL sees it as an exhibition where their assets are at risk.

That's the last MBB game I went to. Damn that was a good time and way too long between rowdy environments.
2023 LSU smokes all of them I think. Take out Cruz and Skenes I think 2023 still wins a 3 game series. They just had so much fire power on both sides of the ball. 2025 was awesome, but it wasn't a "super team," they were just the best survivors in the NCAA tournament. I think 2025 was in a pool of maybe 10 teams of equal level that all could have won, 2023 it was us and Wake Forrest and then a HUGE drop before the next best team.

I'd be curious if he could increase his profits with lower prices. If he made it $10 instead of $30, he might get 3 times the number of subscribers. Especially from LSU fans (which I'm 100% sure is his cash crop for these tournaments). I'd love it if he did something like $10 for a team specific team, $20 for a full tournament, and $30 for all peak events tournaments. It would also be cool if it either came with 2 months free of D1 baseball content, or have a discount for those who are already subscribed to D1. They have good stuff, they're just so dang expensive for what they are.
Subscribe to ESPN unlimited. It’s a new subscription service that just came out a few months ago. After today, it will have every game for the rest of the year.
And if he had made the sweet 16 the last 2 years, we’d all be blaming the injuries and (except for some idiots) be saying we just reload next year. But you can’t say this is why you aren’t winning if you haven’t won.

Thought I read somewhere on here that we have a 5 year deal with KR’s peak events tournaments.

Welcome back Cheer!!
They are happening. I think NBC just isn't patient enough to show them. I was watching one of the speed skating events where we got gold on Peacock, I was goofing off doing something else and the screen was basically just a still shot of the arena and 30 min later they came back with the medal ceremony.

We gave up a hit? Pull Evans, Fire Jay Johnson, tear down the Box, and put the intimidator in a museum. We're done for, cancel the season and maybe the program.

Why not? Put the tickets up for an obnoxious amount and see if anyone bites. If not, go enjoy the game. Just takes one moron to make bank.
How to (legally) watch the LSU Baseball Game - Opening Weekend
Posted by gar90 on 2/5/26 at 9:46 am
I’ll try to keep this updated throughout the season, but if it’s anything like last year I’ll forget about it halfway through March.
Opening Weekend vs. Milwaukee
Friday 2pm - SECN+
Saturday 1pm - SECN+
Sunday 1pm - SECN+
SECN+: this is STREAMING ONLY through the ESPN app or ESPN.com/watch, it is not a channel on your television and you won't find it on your guide. Log into the ESPN app or ESPN.com/watch using your TV provider credentials (TV provider can be cable, satellite, or internet tv like YouTube TV or Hulu Live). Your TV package must include SEC Network as one of its channels in order to have access to SECN+. If you don't have a TV provider that includes SEC Network, technically you will not be able to access the game. However, you can log in with someone else's cable credentials or find "less than legal" streams in various places (Won't promote those, but read the comments).
For the rest of the season....
Just like previous years, we have games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, SECN+, ESPN+, and D1baseball.com
For the purposes of this post, the term “cable provider” means any service where you pay to watch a package of channels that includes ESPN (cox, direct tv, YouTube tv, Hulu live, sling, etc.)
Quick note … the ESPN app houses 2 COMPLETELY separate services.
-There is the cable based subscription (channels you get through cable) that is free as long as you have a cable provider.
-There is ESPN+ which is a separate subscription with a monthly fee. You will not find this channel anywhere.
NEW IN 2025: ESPN is offering a new subscription called ESPN Unlimited which includes all ESPN channels including ESPN plus for $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year (also discounts if you bundle with Disney+ and/or Hulu).
If the game is on…
ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, or SECNetwork: these channels are accessed through your cable provider. Watch through your cable box (or app). An additional option is to stream these through the ESPN app by logging in with your credentials from your cable provider (or someone else’s cable provider. However, your cable subscription must include these channels in order to stream them. You can log in with someone else's cable credentials or find "less than legal" streams in various places (Won't promote those, but read the comments).

However, you can log in with someone else's cable credentials or find "less than legal" streams in various places (Won't promote those, but read the comments).
D1baseball.com: This will be used for the games in Jacksonville Feb 20-22. You’ll need a subscription to d1baseball.com that includes streaming. There are many monthly/annual options with various extras. (More specific info coming later)
ESPN+: this is STREAMING ONLY that requires a SEPARATE SUBSCRIPTION through the ESPN app and ESPN.com/watch and is not available as a normal TV channel. While multiple games may be listed as ESPN+, the only game that will be EXCLUSIVELY be on ESPN+ is the ULL game on March 4th (see final note at the end of this post for other games listed as ESPN+). It is a paid subscription service that cannot be accessed with your cable credentials. You must sign up for (and pay for) ESPN+ to get it. Sign up here If you already Hulu and Disney plus, there is a discount. However, you can log in with someone else's ESPN+ account credentials or find "less than legal" streams in various places (Won't promote those, but read the comments).
Final note: at times games will say they are on one of the listed channels above and also ESPN+. This means if you have access to that channel through the cable provider, you can watch it free of charge and it is also available on ESPN+. They do this so that people who don’t pay for cable or people whose cable subscription does not include that channel have an option to watch by subscribing to ESPN+.
My advice: for the games on SECN+ and ESPN+ games (the ones that are streaming only) if your TV doesn’t include the ESPN app go get a $30 Roku for your TV and download the ESPN app on that.
Again, this is how to watch the games legally. I'm sure the comments will help you figure out other "less than legal" ways (pondahhhhh)

I’ve said forever that baseball is my favorite sport to watch, football is my favorite event to attend. Basketball is fun when the team is good, I love being in a rockin pmac, but if I had to pick one of the big 3 to suck I’d pick basketball every time.
My yearly thread about how to watch the baseball games will come out this week :nana:

I don't think you know what the word "actual" means, also photos can't be from the future.

#1 with less commitments than the next 3 teams shows that we definitely went for quality over quantity.

Kentucky for sure. You have the bourbon trail and Keenland within a short drive. Tennessee is cool but outside of the school there’s not nearly as much.
