re: Official Game Thread: Ole Miss 35 vs. LSU 41, Final

Well laugh at this big boy 17-21 at half. No sacks, 300 yds of offense by a team who does not average that over the course of a game. Who has more yds rushing? Who has more yds. passing? But then never let the facts get in the way of of your football expertise.
From what I have seen lately, I wish it were true but it is probably only end up being a desire and not a reality. We are poorly coached.

The worst coached team in the SEC. Worst offensive co-ordinator in the history of LSU. The defensive line is highly over-rated. No pressure on the quarterback at all. How many sacks do we have this year? Not many! Montgomery talked about 18 sacks before the season. None of our defensive lineman would go in the first 4 rounds of the NFL draft if held today. Ole Miss has a much better defensive line than we do. If the only way to get rid of Miles and his staff is to lose, so be it.
Kragthorpe is probably the worst of those interviewed for the job. But only time will tell

I can appreciate your optomism but I'm afraid Miles has proven that he is able to take great talent and coach them to be average.

Ronnie Estay/Art Cantrelle/Curtis Martin
I've never been hit harder than by Ronnie "Crockett" Estay in a spring game.

I really don't see anyone who has committed to get that excited about. Hopefully these guys will fool us all and turn out to be stellar players, but if the scouting combines are correct this is not exactly a super class.
re: Anyone hear how the Weekend has went with the recruits?

Anybody with two first names, "Joe Joe", who moved to Texas, probably got kicked out of the great state of Alabama
I certainly don't think either of these young men are overrated. However, why would any athlete of similar ability want to come to LSU seeing the way Miles is ruining the careers of these two
I apologize for calling Choctaw an idiot and BT4LSU an arse. Football is not that important to me.
Bama will probably lose to USC this week, Spurrier has never lost to Saban....ever, even with less talented teams. Urban Meyer is twice the coach of Nick Saban, the man who made losing 3-4 games a year and looking good at it a profession.
I'm going to laugh my arse off when Miles has a better record than Saban for the second time in three years.
If you laughed your arse off, there would be nothing left because you seem to be all arse

Dont flatter yourself...i could give a rats arse what you post on here. I just hate idiots that NEVER, and i mean never, have anything positive to say about the players or coaching staff and decide to sign up and bless us with their great football knowledge and Nostradamic predictions. I dont post predictions because i dont pretend to know what the hell is going to happen. You can leave now.
If you didn't give a rat's arse as you put it you wouldn't reply to the post. People like you, Choctaw, are suspected of being an idiot, but then you open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Most of you guys need to grow up. I've been following LSU football since the 50's long before most of you were thought of. Somehow, most of you identify your self worth with how well LSU does in football. Any comment about LSU is taken as tho it were an attack on your person. Just shows immaturiy. Most of what I write is targeted at that immaturity. It can be very entertaining
If we go 10-2, I will definitely give Miles credit and admit I was wrong, but I can't see that happening.

yeah, a d that has no sacks. I'm sure McElroy and Snead are just cringing at the thought of the LSU pass rush.

Look Mr. Sammy, the first 4 years were with Saban's recruits. I hope you are right and LSU goes 10-2 or 11-1, but looking at the way we have played, that's not realistic. We could easily be 3-3. Bama will beat us with their defense and they will beat Florida in the championship game. Ole Miss will beat us because we cannot pressure the quarterback, and Snead will pick us apart like he did last year. Arkansas may do the same.
I hope everyone who thinks LSU will go 10-2 or 11-1 is right, but that flys in the face of what we have seen already. We could easily be 3-3 right now. Bama will beat us because of their defense. Ole Miss will beat us because we cannot put pressure on the quarterback, thus Snead will pick us apart like he did last year.
The same is possible with Arkansas.

LSU will lose to Bama by 21, to Ole Miss by at least 10 and could easily lose to Auburn and Arkansas
re: Joe Alleva Ripped in Reveille
Posted by 68Tigers on 10/13/09 at 8:26 pm to ChitownLSU12
Joe Alleva should not have been hired as LSU's AD for the simple reason that he was at the helm of Duke athletics when the lacrosse coach was fired and several of the players kicked out of school and vilified publicly, based on false accusations by at best a stripper and at worst a prostitute whose story turned out to be a lie. Mr.Alleva went along with the politically correct position of firing a white coach and consenting to the dismissal of white student athletes because they were accused by a black stripper. Had the coach and students been black and the stripper white, no such action would have taken place.
Herb, I understand where you are coming from, but you need to be realistic. Miles is now playing with his recruits. The losses last year to Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas can all be chalked up to coaching. There is no co-hesiveness to the offense, and seemingly very little team discipline: 5 offsides penalities against Florida, which kept several of their drives alive.
One of the selling points to the Tiger Faithful when Miles was hired was that he had a winning record against Oklahoma. Who hasn't beaten Oklahoma. If you like 7-5; or at best 8-4, then vote for Miles

Get use to 3 - 4 losses per year under Miles
Posted by 68Tigers on 10/13/09 at 8:11 pm
As much as I hate to say it the Tiger faithful better get use to losing 3-4 games per year under Miles. LSU at present is the most poorly coached team in the SEC. Miles says this is the strongest offensive line he has ever had. He's either stupid or has a very short memory. LSU has not gotten better but worse as the season rolls on, especially on offense. Defensively, the back 7 are holding their own while the d-line is weak and "do they have a sack yet this year? Have any of you ever seen a more disorganized LSU team that this year's edition. Depending on the outcome of Auburn and Arkansas, LSU could easily have 5 losses again this year.
Everyone should be on Miles. He's not a head coach but a cheerleader. Miles has no fire and way too little discipline, which is evident by the penalties, wasted timeouts, etc. I don't believe LSU under Miles will come close to a championship, SEC or National again. PJ is right. He won with Saban's recruits and now he must play with his and it isn't looking too good.
re: Is John Brantley the Next Tim Tebow?
Posted by 68Tigers on 9/28/09 at 7:16 pm to Make It Rayne
Tim Tebow is a great football player and a fine young man. Do I hope we knock his block off when we play them? Yes, but to make crude comments like those made by Make It Rayne only reveals the ignorance and perversion of the author.
re: Is Miles calling the plays on offense or is Crowton?
Posted by 68Tigers on 9/28/09 at 7:08 pm to LSUtigerOregon
Whoever is calling the plays is certainly no offensive genius, nor is there any ryhme or reason to the play calling. No continuity
- Block - worst offensive line in 10 years
- Pressuring the quarterback is out with our defensive line
- MSU might have known our running plays, but anyone who has watched LSU under Miles and Croton could just as easily determine the running plays by the formation
- Play defense - has Chavis forgotten how to coach since he left Tennessee or are our players overrated
- Have some continuity to the offense - it's like Croton just pulls a play out of the hat; no ryhme or reason to his play calling
- Turn Miles into a head coach instead of a cheerleader

re: LSU # 4 Coaches Poll, #4 AP Poll
Posted by 68Tigers on 9/27/09 at 10:25 pm to GeauxTigers80
the fact of the matter is that he AP poll is a joke. I heard Herbstreet say that last week he voted Miami #5. To see that USC, Oklahoma, and Ohio St. have moved up so high after being beat by really much lesser opponents , simply reflects the bigoted bias of the sports media. Why are people stupid enough to believe that a journalism degree makes one an expert on anything. As far as LSU, we are definitely over-rated but will fall greatly after our first loss. Ole Miss from 4th to 21 based on an SEC loss on the road. If you could buy those who vote in the AP Poll for what they are worth and sell them for what they think they are worth, one could retire.
that's pretty good evaluation. Either Chavis has forgotten how to coach since he left Tennessee or our guys aren't as good as the Tiger faithful have been led to believe
7-5 looks about right. Tigers fans better wake up and realize we have a cheerleader for a coach. His first 3 years were accomplished with Saban's recruits.
The worst offensive line in 10 years. 30 yards rushing against State. We will lose the next 3 because we won't be able to score enough points, unless we have defensive scores or special teams scores like the past Saturday
