really? are you that stupid to understand someone being a good TEAM player?

My IQ is higher than yours, there is nothing wrong with saying you would rather not split time. Now he just has to show why he shouldn't split time when he gets in. (JJ isn't a Div 1 QB he's not good enough- but I would lose respect for him if he was OK with losing his starting job)

You show me someone that doesn't mind losing or being put into second place and I'll show you a loser.

Its like life. Unless your one of those people who thinks everyone should get a trophy...which sounds probable

to be honest I wouldn't want a QB that wanted to share time. I want a leader and competitor and anyone who seems happy to be splitting time isn't the qb I want.

however JJ isn't going to get it done and isn't a good enough QB. JL needs to get the start and the amjority of the reps...

there hasn't been any offensive improvement in 2 years whats going to change? I do think Chavis will get the D better though?

Same as last year

Posted by waldo2112 on 9/5/10 at 2:42 pm
Same problems as last year inept coaching, poor offense... jefferson looks no differant. I am not expecting Joe Montana but some development would be nice...going to be a long year
Well maybe they ahve weaker defences at Oregon but at least he won't have to watch his talent go to waste under Gary crowton's expert leadership. But hey we might have some improvement and only be in the bottom 100 on offense next year.
yes he had success and yes he will get drafted. All of the negative remarks towards him on this thread are a joke. He was a 19 year old kid who made some mistakes. Name one of us who didn't. LSU was't screwed up by him. Plenty of teams have had the same situation and have had success. The last interview I saw had him accepting all responsibility for his actions and stating that the coaches gave him every opportunity and it was his fault he did not get his act together.

The kid learned from his mistakes and I wish him well in his future. And people are right there is NO 07 championship without RP. Joe Flacco was from a small school as well so was Kurt Warner.

Professors bring in millions of dollars in research grants. LSU is a great school on the rise academically and its professors will be bringing in millions more in the coming years. The potential for dollars earned in the research and academic world blow football money out of the water at big time academic institutions. Research expenditures nation wide been on the rise during the economic downturn. Four universities this year earned over a billion dollars in research for the first time in history.

The school and the tax payer play little to no part of the coaches salary. It all comes from both the program's revenues as well as private donations. the fact is 93K people pay 504 a head to watch the Tigers play ball. If the programs wants to use self generated money to pay the coaches that is their right.

Well maybe Crowton could defy his usual trend and show some improvement. WHO knows next year we might rank in the 90's in offensive production as opposed the bottom 110's..heck that could equal a 20% improvement...No telling what type of raise he will get with an offense that can score 12pts a game as opposed to 10pts

re: JaMarcus

Are you kidding me...the entire league talks about how Jamarcus weight is now in the 300's..and Gardowski threw more TD's in the 4th Quarter of a game a couple of weeks ago than JR did the whole year. If he wants to be a great QB he has to put in the work and all signs point to that not happening.
Happens all the time. I would call him out for not doing it.

When LSU fans cheered the dismissal of RP, they didn't stop to take into account the consequence of his dismissal.

Give me a break they had over 2 years to compensate for that and 3 other highly recruited QB's..Plenty of teams have started freshman or sophomore QB's that have developed...Colt McCoy at Texas, Bradford...this years offence was pathetic and all of the positive thoughts in the world aren't going to make a difference. In the last two years LSU has lost 10 games and gone 8-8 in the SEC. That is the record that counts, Miles should get another year, Crowton needs to be dumped. This year excluding wins over such power houses as Tulane, Troy, and LA Tech we sucked.

At 4 million plus a year the buck stops at the top. And if we do not make our feelings known nothing will ever happen.

His offense won't work in the SEC. You missed last year's Cotton Bowl I take it.

I remember hearing the same thing about a crazy offense called the Spread run by a coach named Urban Meyer. The System will work anywhere.. the better the talent the more effective
Probably couldn't due much worse than Crowton #112 in the country and 12th in SEC?? Hell pulling the plays off of Madden might have even worked better

re: Chavis

Posted by waldo2112 on 12/18/09 at 2:02 pm to
Well considering he is talking about chavis to UGA...He might have an inside...He might know shite about LSU but he knows he shite about UGA

re: Koenning to UGA?

Posted by waldo2112 on 12/17/09 at 9:20 pm to
koenning to the job at illinois for a salar of about 800K.. I do not think UGA is going to top that
Not benched, however he should made to clarify his remarks on twittter. But it was a dumb posting.

re: Chavis

Posted by waldo2112 on 12/17/09 at 2:06 pm to
I think chavis would be a loss. LSU did not lose too many games this year due to Defense. Also, a lot needed to be cleaned up after the last years Co-Coord debacle.

Would like to see some pressure and kept hoping to eventually see Alem learn to play containment at end instead of just rushing the passed

I was hoping it was a clue that Crowton was gone...

re: Chavis

Posted by waldo2112 on 12/17/09 at 1:59 pm to
On the Radio.. 680 the fan.. Coach Jim Donnan said he heard Chavis had expressed interest...

Chavis

Posted by waldo2112 on 12/17/09 at 1:44 pm
In Atlanta the rumor is Chavis has expressed interest in UGA DC job and is not that happy in Baton Rouge. Has any one heard anything about this?

re: What is your evaluation of Alleva?

Posted by waldo2112 on 12/1/09 at 11:55 am to
I am not a big fan. I still find the way that he threw those Duke Lacrosse players under the bus to be reprehensible.

I think he is a PC bureaucrat... I wish We Had gotten Radovich for GA Tech back..

But that is just my opinion.

re: Fair weather fans?

Prior to Saturday I thought he deserved a lot more time and that Crowton needed to go. Well I have reaffirmed my opinion that crowton needs to be dumped. (he is a wizard alright, it takes a real genius to achieve so little with so much talent) But Miles needs to man up, that debacle was ridiculous. If he felt we should have run the ball then we should have...( he is the HC not Crowton that is his decision, He is on the sideline he needs to know when we have called timeout, He needs to have the field goal team ready to go in. The team commits to many penalties and has poor on the field discipline that all points to coaching. Changes need to be made and fast. 8-8 without a Victory over a real team with a winning record is not acceptable. The only team worth anything that we have managed to beat is Auburn..And they are mediocre at best...

Here is what the "Wizard" Gary Crowton has done at LSU
I wrote about this following the Florida game and I wrote this thread earlier today with further evidence:

Defend this

Simple those QBs are playing much better than LSU's.
Jj doesn't know what he is doing most of the time thus the delays in getting the plays run.
He doesn't seem to know his progressions on pass plays.
Name the teams in SEC that would trade QBs with LSU.
Miles is a decent guy,he doesn't openly blame his players when things go wrong.
This is a learning year for JJ,and he has shown some improvement which will make the coaches smarter.

Excuse me if I am wrong but isn't it Crowton's job to make sure that is fixed... I have seen no improvement at all this year
they scored enough to win....and put up a ton of yardage
Crowton is just a bad OC... Something needs to change with the talent we have we should not be in the bottom 10% of the country in offense. We have not even produced against the bottom of our schedule. Miles has earned our trust by winning and winning a lot. When your offense is among the worst in the country...the OC has to go) I mean if there was a modicum of improvement I would say wait it out but there has been none on offense at any position, the discipline isn't there. Heck right now I would be happy with an offense ranked in around 80th in the country. (it would show an improvement of 20%)
Hell yeah. the Offense is Horrible. Neither the Line or Qb's have shown any progression, the play calling sucks (If I see JJ run the option to the short side of the field again I might choke) We have running backs who start are producing and then we do not use them for a quarter.

Player do nto know where to line up and we have an excess of penalties. That is coaching.

Crowton is the Wizard alright...If anyone remembers the Wizard of OZ was a fraud as well...

Play calling

Posted by waldo2112 on 11/15/09 at 11:11 am
Does any one else wonder why we keep calling aan options with JJ to the short side of the field?
I disagree. KW has averaged more yards a carry and has ad times when he si very productive. No Back couldbe productive the way jefferson runs the option on that always brillaint paly to the short side.

KW will start producing and for some reasons they bench him.. He is in the doghouse for some reason. AND it is not blocking he seems to be the back brought in for blocking purposes.

I think the real reason is we have an inept offensive coordinator. Whose play calling is garbage.
maybe he is a good interviewer. Hell, Dave Wandstadt and Norv Turner and wade Phillips keep getting opportunities in the pro's and they suck too
Yeah, but the same bad things happened when we played a defense like UGA and Miss State that are are having trouble holding opponents under 40pts.

The only person out of touch is Gary Crowton and his moronic play calling and scheming. And JJ's inability to throw the ball. The ball has to leave his hand for us to make a play getting sacked 3 times in a row is a killer.

crowton -Offensive Genius my arse.
