Good question...I was told on tRant that A&M wasn't good and even without our best player we should've beaten them.

I agree with the sentiment of his post and yours...but anyone who says LSU wouldn't have beaten Texas A&M easily if Thomas played is either crazy or intellectually dishonest.
I would say losing Thomas is a significantly bigger impact than losing Pinson.

Maybe a bunch of our guys are only coming to LSU to get to the NFL and not to dominate and win while here.
Coaches like Kirby and Saban built cultures where that isn't acceptable. We recruit kids telling them we'll get them to the NFL. Maybe that's what you have to do. But it hasn't translated to on field success in 6 seasons. Ever since we've leaned into the NFLSU thing, it feels like we've lacked on field leadership and heart. Seems like we're disproportionately affected by opt outs every year for example.
Probably painting with a broad brush but it all comes down to culture and leadership in my opinion.

I'm actually really enjoying watching Pavia getting his arse kicked by a good defense and effective scheme. I know Iowa has to regularly face all those Big 10 mobile QBs so it makes sense they'd be so much better than us.
