I love some college softball. And college baseball and MLB too.

I'm referring to athletic scholarships, not NIL. We are hearing people say "the age of the walk-on is over," and now we are seeing clear examples of rosters not reaching their max. Just makes you wonder.

In the grand scheme of things if money was no issue you would want all of those dudes back because youre allowed up to 105 scholarship players on our roster- not just 85.
Question: Who foots the bill if we put 105 on scholarship? General Athletic Dept funds?
The reason I ask is because I follow softball closely. They are allowed 25 on full scholarship, but the team settled on 23 (even cutting 3 returners from last year). It's even lower now at 22 because one player had to medically retire.
Starting to think this is a pattern and almost no roster on any campus will be maxed out.
In general, I'm not a fan of schools wearing black uniforms if it is not an official school color (see some of Florida's black uniforms over the years in various sports).
I like that AU has dark navy so no need for black. Our fans have started wearing the powder blue some, as a throwback the 70s/80s style baseball uniforms. Baseball wore it in the fall. Interesting to see if it keeps showing up. AU hasn't gone all in like Ole Miss, but I'm a fan so far.

Does San Antonio qualify as out of the Southeast? Weather could still be pleasant in November and December.
I said this Wednesday, but SHOCK... a Nate Oats team that can't play defense.

This Drago stuff his killing me Jville. Most people don't know or care, but we already have a Drago coaching the soccer team (originally from Serbia).
I have PTSD. All I can think is if AU were defending, that's a flag all day long.

It was when AU played Oregon too.

I didn't think officiating could get worse than SEC football, but here we are.
All the laughing about AU complaining about officials last night and the Bama board is littered with 20+ pages of complaints. How hypocritical.
On a serious note. Alabama under Oats has never played sound defense. The strategy is to see how much they can get away with and for Oats to beg the officials all night.
Good finish to the half. A&M went small.

Auburn is in a tough spot. There is no doubt the last 5 seasons have caused fan support to decline.
There is definitely apathy among the fan base, but I'm still shocked the stadium is full every week.
AU is in a big hole right now because UGA and Bama are rolling. The only comparable time in modern football where both were rolling like this was the late 70s-early 80s. It took Dye to reset the culture then, but I think it's much harder now in the NIL/portal era.
Getting ready for AU to tip. My afternoon coffee has worn off.

man golesh is in a tough spot. hard to imagine them putting together a competitive roster for next year at this point.
I agree, but starting over to rebuild the culture is what it's going to take, even if the roster isn't competitive from a talent perspective next year.

I went last year. The baseline seats seemed to be far from the action. Narrow seats too. Of course 2 large gentlemen were seated next to us.

Auburn needs a center. Bigly.

Disagree. Harsin didn't recruit and tried to tank the program. He was better on Gameday than Freeze, but not overall.
Alabama will be the more talented roster.
