I would work for no salary if I had that list.

You sir, are retarded.

You have the same access to those bills. They’re all in the public domain.

Are members guilty of insider trading? Most likely. But to think a staffer making $50K a year, roughly $33K after taxes, is building “generational wealth” makes you financially illiterate.

Lemme guess, he’s buying $5 worth of Raytheon stock based on what he reads in the Defense Appropriations Bill and wakes up a multimillionaire.

Direct your misinformed ire at Members and a few Senior staff, but leave the everyday poorly paid grinders out of this discussion.

#2 in the senate

That would be Barrasso from Wyoming.

Cornyn has zero Leadership roles. McConnell made sure of that.

You know frick-all about Congress.

Let him serve 1-2 terms

Let him? Like Chuck Grassley or Mitch McConnell?

You don’t “let” politicians do anything because the plurality or majority of Louisianans keeping voting [pick a descriptive noun] into office.

legitimate

I guess this is your definition of “legitimate”, huh?

Don’t know much about politics, do you?

Even the staffers are building generational wealth.

You know absolutely NOTHING about how a Senate office works. Generational wealth?….in Washington DC?

Let me break it down for you:

Starting Salary for most entry-level and staffers (usually 2-4 staffers): $30k

Legislative Correspondents: $30-40K

Legislative Assistants: $40-80K, depending

Scheduler(s): $60K

Legislative Director: $80-100K

Ops and misc: $50-60K

Chief of Staff: $180-200K

State Staff: $30-80K, depending

Most likely 2/3rds of the staff work in DC and the other 1/3rd work in the state.

Now look at the cost of living in DC. Average rent for a 1br is $2500-3K.

Not advocating or justifying Turtle McConnell, but don’t speak about things you don’t know. Makes you look like an uneducated a-hole, which you probably are.

John Fleming is a legit conservative.

Who just happens to be a septuagenarian.

Louisiana, please stop voting paw paw into office.

The movie was called Sahara. Came out 2005.

I’m aware. Always enjoy watching the movie even though it got low ratings.

Decent cast, love Steve Zahn.

I saw this in a movie once. Was used to incinerate evidence about a company dumping chemical waste into some African nation’s water table.

The movie has the usual tropes and stereotypes — evil white European mastermind, corrupt black military leaders, female environmental do-gooder, white savior played by Matthew McConaughey.

young 73 year old.

No such thing exists in the workforce, let along Congress.

There’s a reason 66.10 is the retirement age, yet we have Members of Congress in their 80s and 90s. Clown show.
quote:

Cassidy staffer

Hahaha. Far from it. But I can tell you I don’t want a septuagenarian to be my Senator. Don’t need another 70+ year old thinking he knows what’s best for me. Only POTUS can be 70+ [sarcasm, nerds].

Fleming…dumb arse Louisiana electorate.

quote:

let's say someone

This is usually the precursor to an incredibly stupid hypothetical. And after reading what you wrote…checks out.

huge black market for cigarettes to avoid taxes

What is the ratio comparison of taxed cigarettes to bootleg cigarettes? 100K to 1? IMO, they should tax the shite out of it to pay for our shitty infrastructure, especially in Louisiana.

Want to “criminalize” public consumption? $500 fine for 1st offense, $1000 for every repeat with a $1000 escalator after.

And before the libertarians come out to play, I don’t care what you do in your home or designated smoking location.

This

Another wasted vote for Louisiana.

Sure wish y’all would learn about politics rather than screaming “conservative” like a typical Low IQ voter.

Then you’ll bitch about old arse Mitch McConnell having brain farts on TV, yet elect a man who, after serving, will be almost as old as Mitch when the dementia set in.
quote:

She will not rock the establishment boat at all.

You obviously don’t understand how the Senate works. Maybe go back to HS and take a civics class.
quote:

Better vote for Fleming then

Vote for the 74 year old, then scream about septuagenarians being out of touch with the average voter.

The Louisiana electorate is chock full of idiots.

ATL, Houston to that list, too.

Never been to one’s in ATL, Houston was a blast but sketchy AF.
It’s a form letter aka a constituent response letter. Usually a response to an email or actual letter. Mass mail. While he’s gives an opinion, it doesn’t declare how he will vote. Means nothing.

Take it from someone who knows.

ARCHIBALD’S

This guy has been to DC before!

However, gentlemen’s clubs in DC are a far cry from Tampa, Dallas, and Vegas.

This proves unequivocally that you don’t have any kids.

I’m not a fan of Scone but if you said this about me and my kid(s), that would be your arse.
quote:

they get e-cred when they shite on Moscona

It’s not clout-chasing; rather Scone can be fricking annoying more times than not.

It’s gonna be what it be.

Clinton was 2008 (18 years ago)

Don’t use piss poor math skills and hyperbole to sell your stupid narrative against term limits.

You’re so concerned less than 2% of retired or former Members of Congress may take positions in an Administration, that you’d sacrifice having the likes of Grassley, McConnell, Schumer, Pelosi and several other members who have been in Congress for 30-40 years to continue that tradition.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a dumber argument AGAINST term limits. Do yourself a favor is stay off the Poli Board. This ain’t for you. Try the Soccer or Book Boards.
