I do not disagree with some of what you said but
How can you say that when 3 teams in our district made it quarter finals 2 to semis. What about PBS.
I would love for Patterson to play PBS again (thanks for the fumble) or to play Richwood (they are for real)
Back to the academic thing - I do not question that PBS is a good school to attend but when your tuition is almost twice that of EDW you can afford to spend a little more on athletics to have better salaries and etc. I think we compete extremely well across the board with little emphasis on athletics.

Let me just say this:
EDW has a great athletic program and we do not have luxury of the population in BR. Yes we do have a few kids from neighboring parishes but these kids come to EDW for the top notch education they receive. My son who is currently at EDW is my second child to attend this school and since my oldest son was in school it really has hurt me that the school (as a whole) put SOOOO much emphasis on education instead of athletics. But you know what - these kids will not go into life and make millions playing sports - my hope is to get a good education and to go into life with that bases and the life lessons learned while playing sports to have very productive life.

First of all - Congrats PBS
I played football at EDW and I can tell you this - this was not one of the most talented teams from the past, but the positive attitude and the passion that these kids have played with was unreal. Coach Kyle is great motivator and we are looking forward to the years to come. I saw some of the upcoming talent that PBS has at the end of the game (and yes it is good) but we are looking at a few very good years to come also. I am sure we will meet ya,ll again in the years to come.
Just so you will know, the deep snapper is a 9th grader who did an outstanding / flawless job all year. You can not say that he was the reason for this loss. I talked to him after the game and he said that he would feel alot worst if the score would have finished 9-0 (two snaps over the punters head) but with the final the way it was that he was not reason for the loss and that PBS also had some bad snaps.
Yes our leading running back played hurt with a severely sprained ankle until he could not walk anymore and the weather conditions were terrible but under different conditions I feel the game would have been alot different. Not saying that we would have won but we would have scored a few and may have been a bit more effective defensively and on special teams.
For someone to say they do not know how we made it this far is STUPID on your part. Look at our schedule and the teams we defeated. You don't get 3rd place seating in the state by being a so-so team - you earn it!! Undefeated in district with two of the teams that we beat in dist. in the quarter finals (CNI and Patterson). Not to mention the #5 seated team in 5A.
I can go on and yes I could be ugly but all I will say is hope to meet up again in the near future in football and we are looking forward to baseball.

Good Luck but the Cardinals will surprise you and everyone else who thinks that this may not be a contest. They beat some very good teams to make it this far (ie: Patterson - who gave PBS all they wanted last week, Catholic of N.I. - who is playing ND of crowley - these are just from their district)
Will be a good game - GO CARDS!!

Sounds like a little jealousy from down the bayou (Lockport). I firmly believe that EDW has a good chance of beating Parkview. This team has so much to offer and plays for four quarters from the heart with a great will to win. (ie: South Lafourche victory in 3 OT) They have a few standout players but for the most part they play together and for each other with a passion. Will be a good one! :violin: :violin:
