Preseason polls are usually subjective based through bowl performance and how many returners are coming back in.

re: Is Miles a bad coach?

If he turns the Offense around next year I'll forever shut up about questioning Miles' competency.

We could have won every one of our losses if our defense was there, and that should show something to Miles right now.

But he's not a great coach, yet.
Let's rank coaches by how they inspire their fanbase to start riots

1. Lane Kiffin

I can't stop laughing.
Predictions for USC 2010 season? Bowl game if lucky?

re: Does Chavis go to Tenn?

Under current circumstances I think he would be better off at LSU for now. Why become HC for couple of years to watch the entire program collapse?

That's what is going to happen to Tenn.
GOD DAMMIT THIS JUST MADE MY DAY.

This will be a book in a decade titled:

The Fall of Troy

Does USC want the death penalty for reals?
Roll Tide amirite?

I hate you Bama so much, but I'd rather have you guys win over Texas.
Can't believe I didn't get tickets when I legitimately live a good hour away from the Rose Bowl. And I could have gotten them when they were cheaper and nobody knew who was going to the NC. :|

Bama needs to win this, let's establish some SEC dominance going into the next decade.
These lineups kind of disprove the star ranking since if Colt McCoy is truly a 3, he shouldn't have even been considered in contention for the Heisman let alone lead his team to the BCSNCG game.

This is why I hate how they rank players, since in the end it's always a crapshoot how well they'll do or not. I mean, take Barkley at USC for example.

For being a 5 star, the most prospected QB in the nation and expected somehow to take USC to the Rose Bowl and ultimately fail miserably.

I was hopeful LM could continue what Saban started.

re: What bothers you more?

Posted by HundertQuadrat on 1/5/10 at 8:20 pm to
What bothers me is the lack of what seems to be a strong Offense and at times a strong Defense. I mean LM can possibly be the worst coach ever, but if he's picking up intelligent coordinators, it doesn't matter since he seems to sideline himself nowadays.

What I personally miss about LM was how arrogant and how excessively aggressive he was. I mean, imagine if that personality of LM was put into the body of Nick Saban. How unbelievable that would be.

frickin' a man.
What so they can play against an SEC, Big 12, Big 10 or Pac-10 champion and get wiped off the floor?

No.
That's great, but all I care about now is next year. Maybe that shows he's improving or something.
They can come to the Sugar Bowl next year.

They're probably convinced they can play against the top 10 programs in the nation now (not by ranking, but by consistency of being in the top 10).

Oregon's a good team, but severely inconsistent. They'll do great one game, and do terrible the next.

At least JJ got progressively better somewhat, or at some times. I saw Barkley decrease substantially from what he is.

It doesn't help that Carroll blames EVERYBODY ELSE first before he says it is Barkley's fault. I'm beginning to think Barkley is a total bust, although what I just said is heresy in USC fandomland.
That's the real test for JJ. I expect him to improve dramatically in the offseason. If not, we could be screwed.

Either way, if we get an 8-5 season again let alone pull stupid-assed losses again I want LM to quit. A program this strong does not deserve to be anything less.

Some of those names on that list have me asking myself whether the NFL is into playing lower quality players so people will be become angrier at the NFL and send them love email.
He'll get another shot. But if LSU can't improve their statistics significantly from previous years, he's done for.

We aren't going to win games with a 100th+ offense ranking.
He has to be. If not, the AD should be fired. To win 2 NCs in a decade, and become one of the top ranked programs in the country and then suddenly go to shite for a year after an off-set year (every great program has one, just look at USC this year and Florida will probably have theirs next year) is unacceptable.

I'm fairly convinced they are going to sit LM down and tell him either he gets LSU a SEC West title and improves the record to a top 10 finish or he best start looking for a new job.

Good article saying he's got 2010 to turn it around:

You guys better win the National Championship.

re: SEC overrated?

If we're going by bowl wins, the best conference this year as of now belongs to the MWC. They're 4-0, and about to go 5-0 assuming TCU demolishes Boise State.

Statisticians are still blown to their minds how LSU managed to win 9 games with their atrocious offensive stats.

I still can't explain it, it's like we won but the stats don't prove it.

Why would he leave now when he has a baseball season and a football season to improve his stock for EITHER profession.

Hell, he might be a highly sought after player for the NFL.
