I don't have much hope in it happening but to me it's never too soon to end a mistake. Having Steven Pearl as our hc is a mistake. I can't imagine Cohen is too happy with being forced into the decision he made so fingers crossed he ends this failed experiment not long after we get bounced from the SEC tourney

Not surprised teams are after SWA. He was the one I was worried could be tempted away after the coaching change. Houston would be a perfect fit for someone like him

Why anyone good would come here to play for a second year coach that no one respects is beyond me. I’ll be stunned if our roster improves next year

Money but who is going to donate NIL to a lost cause. This time next year i expect to not even be in the discussions for post season play.

Hope I’m wrong

You and me both.

Looks like Martay Barnes has committed to FSU

No idea why we offered him. He's not going to contribute as a freshman imo.

hen your front court is 6-10, 6-7 at center, and 6-8,6-7 at PF. It’s the defensive end that struggles. That’s what we have. Bad bad defense.

Do you not remember having Horace Spencer and Mclemore as our centers with both being 6'7? Those guys still defended and altered shots. Also it's not the interior where we're struggling defensively. It's the other teams guards going off behind the 3 point line. Our defensive issues are 100% poor technique and effort. Blaming it on a lack of size is making excuses

This is a little short sighted. This is the 2nd best year the SEC has had in the KenPom era

No idea but if anyone outside of Florida makes it past the round of 16 I'll be shocked and I don't expect many to make it to the sweet 16.
What makes this year worse is the entire conference is down and we're still struggling to stay above water. What happens when the conference rebounds next year but our roster is likely less talented? Idk but it looks like we are about to find out. It's frustrating but other than Bruce idk who to realistically blame. It's not Cohen's fault and it's not Steven's but they're the ones calling the shots so it's up to them to fix it

He would have had to have totally tanked not to get a second year. I personally think we're just putting off the inevitable but I've been wrong before so I guess we'll all see how it plays out.

That’s why I say Steven should get 3 years

He can have a second year but I'm not ready to guarantee 3. Next year if we are less talented and are still having behavioral problems I'm not prepared to give him a pass. Part of coaching at this level is managing personalities and in that regard Steven is really struggling to keep the team on the same page.

Perplexed as to everyone's obsession with this.

Top 50 recruit and despite struggling against pressure and the defensive issues he can score. imo he would have thrived in Pettiford's role last year
He called Coach Pearl a bitch on his backup social media account and then deleted it but not fast enough that it didn't get out. It's hard to walk that one back and still maintain control over the locker room. I believe the only reason he wasn't immediately kicked off the team is that he played for Overtime Elite in AAU

Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell were more your speed?

Sonic of your choosing. This disrespect shall not stand

Sure looks like Golesh thinks Abrams is a better fit and his preferred choice

Willing >>best fit. An analogy.....Scarlett Johansson is my preferred choice for doing the nasty but sitting around waiting on her to choose me back leaves me alone with my junk in my hand so if Jennifer Lawrence comes knocking im answering that door.

Magwood is missing out on some minutes. I hope he’s learned to be a better team member and team mate

I originally thought there's no way he would ever be allowed to play for Auburn again but after it being pointed out to me that he played for Overtime Elite I'm far less confident in that prediction.
Saw a stat that we only had 4 empty possessions in the 2nd half last night. That's pretty dang impressive from the Berg
I don't think they would impact each other. Hall and Freeman have played together as wings in our offense pretty often
quote:

He's forcing up a lot of tough shots

It's mainly confidence but he's a little fatigued too. There were a few times last night he turned down good in rhythm looks just to take an out of rhythm shot late in the shot clock. I'm interested to see how he looks after the bye and am hopeful the time off and a little extra work in the gym can flip his switch.
That was a mature win. I like mature wins. Kept playing our game and they eventually cooled off.
Hugh fit well in auburn and had buy in from the boosters and we see how that worked out. If he can coach he'll do well. If he can't we'll be back here in 3-4 years
Finally some cruitin news. He's a '27 kid so with the lack of any info on any '26 kids I'm thinking the rest our 26-27 roster is going to be transfer heavy

Thats not true. lets look at the last 2 NC outside Indiana. Mich was a senior laden team built from HS, OSU was not filled with transfers but built through top 3 HS recruting classes.

Cant be a new standard if it only happened once with Indiana, Golesh said he wants to build the team through HS recruiting. Until he says otherwise thats still the plan for us.

Those were also very early in the transfer era before Indiana showed a different way. i'm not going as far to say it will be the new normal but more and more teams will start following it and if it continues to show improvement then...
