Companies will start paying players on their own for advertising and even if they don't pull for their school.

But it's clear the NIL has to be capped for college athletics will have to be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up. It was built on stopping players from being paid. Now it will have to be all about capping it for the school in some way.

F they expand to 24 or 32... eventually LSU will get a sniff.
The more they add the more undeserving that get in and more that will gripe that they got left out.

8 max but 6 is better.

D1A doesn’t have a playoff. That’s ESPN’s baby.
The NCAA is still over the schools and all it's programs. It can still put teams on probation for not following it's rules.

Not all schools agree on the current setup as is and it would take most being on the same page for any kind of real split from the NCAA.

But either way, the current format will destroy cfb and only last for a brief period without rules. Too many programs aren't going to sit by while random programs buy players with unlimited money and tie their program down.

NCAA literally can't do any of that. The House vs. NCAA case pretty much took all authority away from the NCAA to enforce anything to do with NIL. The NCAA can still make rules for the sports (a hold is a 10 yard penalty), they can enforce gambling rules, they can enforce some other stuff, but they have NO POWER at all over NIL.
There is always loop holes. As long as the NCAA has power over the programs and TV they can limit what a player can do to play for a program under their power. They can block a program from being eligible for their playoff if they play a player that didn't agree to play for free or under their cap.

A player would have to agree to the ncaa's terms to legally play for their association.

The entire nation would have to split from the ncaa (a huge legal battle) to not follow the rules. The ncaa still has say over who can and can't play for their programs and lots of players still want to win NCs as much as anything.

There is no court ruling that the ncaa has to let anyone play under them or who they have to let in the bowls.

This is fantasy football for billionaires.
Its a XFL meets Arena League with no NIL cap.

It is not NIL. It is booster driven pay for play.
Its a joke on the NCAA for all those years they spent making a rule book around not cheating to get players.

It has turned the sport into a joke without rules. The ncaa could return the favor by forcing player to sign a contract to not accept money through NIL to play for a ncaa program. 5 stars aren't going to the NFL without a place to show their abilities.

You sound like you’re trying to convince yourself lol
So do LSU fans. Lane's record speaks for itself and he's been at bigger programs. LSU fans will turn faster on him than Bama fans did on DeBoer if he starts only winning 2 out of 3 games and loses to everyone that matters.

He’s a good coach, but number 2?
It shows how far the SEC has fallen. Then number 2 HC in the conference can't win big games and loses a third of his games. Records don't matter anymore. Only how good you do in the transfer portal.

If others are doing that and we aren’t no wonder we are getting our asses handed to us on the lines
We probably don't have enough companies lined up to pay for our players at the rate other programs in richer states do. Some companies will use the players as celebrities (even if they don't care about the schools) just for advertising. Bama is in the same boat.

They will have to make schools pool money or cap it to fix the mess that the NCAA spent years to control.

That’s what I don’t understand; how he gets 7 years but Pavia and Chambliss get denied?
I think the ncaa hands years out to under the radar guys because no one is watching but with players like Pavia everyone would notice and use them as examples to get extra years.
He should realize if he hasn't made it by now he isn't going to. He should have focused on a degree by the 3 or 4th stop

English please
He must have been paid a bunch of money by Texas for him to not care about the huge drop in his NFL stock.

Arch now has some studs to throw to, the rest of the SEC is formally put on notice.
He must have made alot to throw away alot of NFL spots. Scouts aren't going to be impressed with a WR if the QB can't get him the ball.
Not even close.

Living in the past already. Indiana broke Bama football.

Like a blueblood, complaining about the current system, because UGA loses players in portal. Talent is being spread out now.
Like a bottom feeder, excited players run for money and hop schools all their career for a few thousand more dollars each year.

It may sound good for you but every player that looks good for one year will run somewhere big and you'll never keep a group of quality players on one of your teams.

Indiana. But Bama will try to use them going undefeated as it being excusable for them getting beat by them.
He loses the big games and a third of total games he coaches. Its why he doesn't last at big schools.

No SEC Championship. No National Championship.

The same day LSU hangs theirs for hiring a HC that has lost 1 out of every 3 games he has coached.
Im sure the whole OM team was impressed with LSU losing to Houston.

Auburn is burning lol
And LSU fans are cheering they got the HC away from OM that has never won anything in all his years as a HC.
