re: National Gymnastics Championship Meet Thread/ LSU Finishes 2nd, National Runner Up
Posted by PalmettoTiger on 4/18/26 at 10:09 pm to Spankum
I wouldn’t say that close is typical. That’s a very close finish. Made for great drama in the arena. We all knew Kailin needed a 9.9875 to tie. She had the tiniest of hops on her landing. Two judges out of 6 gave her a 9.85 which was honestly ridiculous. That should’ve been a 9.95 routine which still wouldn’t have been enough. It’s gonna be a tough 48 hrs for her bc she does hold herself to a higher standard and stuck like 13 landings this season on beam. She’s the best in D1.

This happened bc there was one way low outlier judge score. When this happens the judges have to huddle and discuss then correct their scoring. That was the source of the delay.

9.9875 would’ve tied OU

Our beam is usually very good. Semis was one of our lower ones but I can tell you these girls look about as confident as you could imagine going into final rotation. This crowd is on fire for us and OU is outnumbering us for sure.

Alabama eliminated in the NCAA women’s gymnastics regional final. Any opportunity to root against the bad guys. Geaux Tigers! See you in Fort Worth.

And another thing...CLEAN UP HIS SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS. They check that stuff for knucklehead activity.

This plus create a student athlete resume highlighting his athletic achievements, academics to include gpa and test scores, volunteer work, coach/trainer contact info, and hyperlinks to his socials and film. Attach this in an introductory Email to coaches. Cast a wide net. Also go onto each school's athletics website and fill out their recruiting questionnaire if they have one. Follow the HC, Coordinator and position coach on their X & Insta accounts and DM them as well expressing interest. When you aren't a 3-5 star rated athlete you've got to be proactive.

Pretty sure she’s still in college and pretty sure she’s transferring. I’m close friend’s with Nuss’s future FiL. His daughter is friends with Landry and I remember her telling us before Lane ever took the job that she’d told her that she’ll have to transfer if he goes to LSU bc the Ole Miss people will make her life difficult. Turns out with all their melting over Lane leaving she had some pretty good intuition.

re: WWL reporting Leavitt as signed

Based on the timelines of Berry, Moore & Trey'Dez the contract takes about a week after the commitment to execute. Lots of drafting, red lining and legalese needs to be done.

No, it’s not worse. His personal issues are definitely not something to be shared on a public forum. Surprised they haven’t got out but I’m honestly thinking that even the Rant has a line not to be crossed.

Well said. I've been here since 2005. I don't speak out of pocket and rarely have anything that the above average LSU fan doesn't know. But this year I've dropped 3 nuggets, all of which were 100% true and I got called a liar and fos immediately every time. I didn't even share the moment I found out...each instance waited for my source to tell me I should share it. People want to hear things but then want to shoot it down the moment they hear it.

His boy Cooper is in school with my daughter and works out at my gym. Impressive kid and well put together. I'm sure that went in to OU's interest in Jason but Jason is also one hell of a coach. Cooper carried Liberty Christian on both sides of the ball.

They went to dinner Tuesday night as well.

The visit ended at Supper Club dinner. Leavitt and his parents, other recruits and coaches were there as well as Whit. Lane comes in a little late but meanwhile Mr & Ms Leavitt are reading the breaking Demond Williams news on Twitter and Mr Leavitt lost his shite. He started yelling “frick this shite! Lane’s a fricking liar” and they dip out early.
So, I don’t think it’s so much that we even moved on. Dad jumped to conclusions bc of social media. I think Leavitt is still in play with the news of Demond staying put.

I honestly didn't think we'd be in on paying #1 safety money when we have Cooley and Spears in place.
