Stryker was actually committed to LSU, you guys posting do not know what you are talking about. He's just like Cecchini in the sense that he's a Louisiana kid and wanted to play for his state team. I am positive on this comment I am making. The LSU coaching staff treated Stryker much like Cecchini and that is why they lost him. The coaching staff better re-think what they are doing because if the 2012 MLB draft is hard slotted, the Tigers are in trouble with Trahan and Cecchini heading to Ole Miss.

Stryker is an amazing catcher, probably the best high school catcher I have ever seen. He can do it all....run, hit for average and power, and has rocket for an arm. PM losing him and Cecchini really hurts LSU's program. The 2012 MLB draft has a good possibility of having a hard slot meaning that the chances of Trahan and Cecchini landing on campus are better than ever. PM might want re think his decision of not wanting to recruit kids from Barbe, Zachary, etc. because of Von Rosenberg and Garin Cecchini deciding to go pro. Barbe has 5 freshman that will be SEC prospects and it looks like those kids might wind up at Ole Miss, Arkansas, etc instead of LSU. I think Paul Maneiri needs to admit that what he did to ZVR and Garin was wrong and rebuild relationships with Cassard at Zachary and Cecchini at Barbe. LSU is 3-9 in the SEC right now and the future is not looking bright.
Stryker Trahan, a 2012 graduate from Acadiana High School has committed to Ole Miss. Trahan is another kid from Louisiana who decommitted from the Tigers and is now going to be a rebel. Stryker is 6'0" 220 lbs has a plus arm, can hit for average, hit for power, and can run. Looks like Maneiri lost another Louisiana kid to rival Ole Miss....any thoughts?

re: Gausman, Jones, Eades

I really believe Jacoby Jones will be on campus come August. Eades is an interesting topic of conversation. The guy has been clocked at 94-96 before his injurt. The recovery and rehabilitation seems to be going very well. Supposedly the Colorado Rockies who drafted him like him a lot. He just might get the number he is looking for what I am told is at least 7 figures. He also swings a really good bat, but he could end up on LSU's campus. Gausman was sitting at 92 mph at a pre-draft workout in Houston. That sounds promising for proffesional teams considering he was said to have been down to 88 mph during his high school season. Also showed a great changeup in that showcase as well...another pitch added to his repetoire. If Los Angeles sees enough in Gausman which they could; I think Gausman could be headed to L.A. I think that LSU fans should really be hoping to keep Eades and Gausman. These are two guys that could immediately come in and contribute to the tigers. I believe Jones is hit or miss. He has great athletic ability, but that can only take you so far in this game. Baseball will expose your weaknesses, but if Jones gets dedicated and commited he could turn out to be a good player for the tigers as well.
-jacoby is faster with a 6.6 sixty, cecchini is a 6.7 runner...

-cecchini has a big league approach at the plate. he is a game changer with the bat

-jones is very raw and if he can get his tools to be playable, then u got a really good ballplayer

- cecchini has instincts and no one can teach that, u have to be blessed with it. and i say this because jacoby is faster than cecchini, but i can gurantee you cecchini will steal more bases than him, bc he has instincs! he stole 50 his sophmore year and 55 his junior year, and lead the team in stolen bases his senior year with 25 in 14 games he played in!

- they have the same arm strenghth

- they both can play defense

- cecchini gets the name of "ballplayer" by alot of people in the baseball industry, because he is not afraid to down and dirty when he needs too, he is the one guy that a coach, a GM, scouting director or a fan would love to have on his team! he is a big difference maker!
first of all, garin cecchini is not going to be back for this year, talking about high school baseball. i just got off the phone with him and he just had his 8 week checkup with dr.andrews, dr.andrews said that he has never seen a knee that has progressed as well as his knee is progressing. he will begin jogging in 2 weeks. hitting in mid june. sprinting in mid july. and be ready for fall instructional league if he signs pro or fall baseball at lsu. this is a testament of how hard garin has worked! just letting all the lsu fans know that garin has told me that wants to be a lsu tiger, but if they meet his number, he will not be showing up. and there are some big market teams in his house every single week! and theyve said the injury does not stop them on how hard they will go after him!

Weak Arm? Garin has been clocked consistently at 90-93 mph across the diamond, and his arm was rated as the third best high school infield arm in this year's draft. Many scouts have also graded Garin's arm as "plus". So Garin's arm is actually one of his storng points. As for just playing second? The kid is as versatile as I've ever seen. He played leftfield on team USA, 2nd base his freshman and sophmore years of high school, and then shortstop on the under armour all america team and his junior and senior seasons at Barbe. He's shown scouts the versatility and more importantly Garin has that "IT" factor. He's a high character guy, a leader, and a winner. He's got that fire and that competitor in him like a Tim Tebow. Which I am extremely excited Tim got picked ahead of Jimmy Claussen.

Guys I cant tell all of you this. Garin's rehabilitation process from what I've heard has gone excellent and he is way ahead of schedule almost back to full range of motion. Garin has still recieved a lot of interests from teams that specifically tell them that he has not dropped on their list and is still at the top. He's a high character guy with talent so I don't know what LSU fans should expect. Garin wants to be a proffesional baseball player and has always wanted to be. I think that there are several teams that love him and it only takes one to like you. So, I'm assuming that Garin will not be on campus in the fall LSU fans. The kid will get too much money and an opportunity of a lifetime....to be a professional.
