Trump really needs to find someone to write his tweets. Someone who can channel his energy and his style, but who can organize his thoughts better.

I get the frustration with Mike. But last year's team was one of his least talented teams in a long time. (some valid criticism there) and we were one clutch hit away from being in a position to boat race Duke in a Super and go to Omaha.
From a pure coaching standpoint, that was one of his better performances.
We are way more loaded at the plate and on the mound this year. So if he lays another egg in June, then it's time to start talking about who's next.

So we are almost out? Totally depleted in 72 hours.
Unless of course you count the thousands of munitions we have stored in Kansas, Germany, South Korea, West Virginia, and Colorado.

The most expensive weapons system of all time. Will cost us close to $2 trillion before it is entirely replaced with unmanned AI controlled fighter bombers.
In 2016 Isreal began probing Iranian supplied air defense systems in Syria using F-35 SEAD pods. There was no respinse or indication the air defense batteries knew F-35 was there.
In 2018 Israel used F-35 to destroy Syria's air defense systems. It was the first combat use of F-35. Everything apparently worked like a charm.
In 2024 Israel began dismantling Iranian air defense systems inside Iran itself.
In 2025 Israeli pilots went all the way to downtown Tehran, posting selfies of themselves over the city at night. This paved the way for even conventional non stealth aircraft such as F-15 and F-16 to operate with impunity over the country..
Iran was defenseless.
In 2026 the US unleashed F-35 against Venezuela allowing US helicopters to penetrate Caracas and snatch its president from a heavily defended air force base.
It seems to me that the pace of enforcing our will on other countries is directly tied to the growing confidence in this one weapons system. Russia and China simply do not have anything to stop it. Either in an air to air, or air to ground role.
Cuba is now talking about total capitulation because it has no chance of fighting back. And no allies willing to come to its aid.
How far will we take it? What can this one weapons system allow us to do? How long will we have to press this advantage before Russia or China exports a technology that checks it?
What is a comparable technology that made one nation essentially invulnerable to another? The long bow? The three deck man o war? The horse?

I don't fundamentally understand the strategy. I am driving to a business meeting in Tennessee on a Sunday afternoon. I want to listen to the Saints game. I pull up WWL app on my phone. And it says there is an NFL blackout for me and I can't listen to it.
Why not? What do they want me to do? Seems like a zero cost way to get more listeners and gain more ad revenue. But instead I am supposed to pay hundreds of dollars a year to catch a few minutes of an NFL game a few times a year?

So now it's throwing garbage at Ukraine to stall for time while it figures itself out.

Actually Russia is being smart about this.
They're building a pretty badass rear echelon army filled with veterans who survived a tour in Ukraine. And all the latest weapons.
The newest tanks rolling off the assembly line aren't going to Ukraine. They're going to a new strike army that's taking all the lessons from the Ukraine debacle and turning them into the future Russian army.
They're building one army in the East to respond to China and one in the West to take the Baltics and use them as a bargaining chip to forestall being overrun in the event of a systemic defeat.
Throwing more men and material won't effect the outcome in Ukraine. That war is already lost. It's just a killing ground for new recruits and a means to keep pressure on and occupy the masses. Putin is already worried about -- and planning for -- the next war.

I think the overriding assumption is that they are not operational.
Certainly the missiles have not been maintained, fueled, upgraded, etc.
As for the warheads, I would guess we know that the control boards are corroded, corrupted, obsolete, missing, etc. And probably do not communicate with their fire control systems any longer.
The trick is the fissile material itself. The assumption here is that stuff is still there and could be sold, transferred, stolen, etc. We defintely would have to literally parachute guys with pallets full of cash to make sure everyone was properly paid and secured.
It woud be an enormous pain in the arse and a high stakes game for sure.
But Russia collapsed in the early 90s without this becoming a problem. And they will collapse again. It's part of their identity.

I honestly have come around to the idea what Biden didn't want Ukraine to win too quickly. It would have been a stinging rebuke to Putin. But one he could have probably survived, and learned from.
I honestly think Biden wanted to boil the frog. Keep Putin thinking he was close to victory if he just threw in more assets. And then Biden would give just enough to stop him. But not enough to let the Ukrainians counter attack.
And to me Trump seems content to let this thing go on long enough to watch Russia collapse from the inside. Seizing the shadow tankers is ballsy as hell. And something Trump hasn't gotten enough credit for. He has gone against a big portion of his MAGA base by tightening the screws on Russia. Not as much as many moderates and democrats would like, but way more than his MAGA supporters expected.
I think even the next big step is something that Trump has calculated as to our advantage. If Russia collapses and gets thrown into turmoil, China would have to move into Siberia and keep itself busy making sure breakaway republics around the Stans don't flame regional tensions. That might buy Taiwan another decade of Chinese distraction.
It's not a bad scenario if Trump can pull it off.
