especially Delilah
Anyway, after spending 3 months among our brothers to the frozen north, we crossed the border and soon had the radio tuned to whatever local (US) channel was nearby. And that channel had Delilah, which was somewhat nice. Still annoying as ever but refreshing as pretty much the only English we heard that entire summer.
This was pre-smartphone and even pre-XM radio. We had some few national TV channels with English, but the French immersion was pretty widespread where we were.

Gotta tell you though: At this point, a kilo of primo coke would probably last me the rest of my life.

Dunno, but I had a coonass acquaintance who ended up in Germany as a missionary or something. He talked about driving the Autobahn and flinging apple cores out of the sunroof at 150MPH.
Which, littering or not, sounds like something I’d probably try.

Name?
The person in the image is Chantel Everett (née Jimeno), a prominent cast member on the show.
The scene appears to be from a car wash setting, with the text "I'm finished." displayed on the screen.
Texas Driver could get it. So could Jane Sample.

Weird that it’s only 60 miles. I mean we cut a passage between oceans through Panama nearly a century ago. No one ever thought about completing an intercontinental highway over the past decades?

Back in the day, I was a junior associate. So, my December 31st was always spent in the office with at least 3 computers running CLEs for the partners. Kicked back in the office with a Crown and Coke, listening to Plattsmier drone on about ethics or whatever. Good times.

Dunno. Wife’s cousin is a physics professor. Doctorate and everything. Smart enough dude, but has the personality of sandpaper and has difficulty navigating the real world.
Seems like someone who spoke English, had any kind of personality, and had a little common sense would be way ahead of their peers in that field.

How do the liquid soap folks get the anti perspirant underarm deodorant off? I’ve started bringing my own bar of Dial yellow when traveling for that specific purpose.

re: Has anyone treated flu with Oscillococcinum?
Posted by FCP on 12/25/25 at 10:35 pm to Sheepdog1833
Don't know anything about Oscillococcinum, but I do know that oseltamivir phosphate (Tamiflu) gave me a textbook case of the "confusion, or abnormal behavior" they list as a side effect.
Ended up regaining consciousness about 36 hours after the first dose. Found myself barricaded in the corner of my bedroom, hiding because "they" were coming to get me. Threw away the remaining doses and recovered over the next couple of days using saltines, ginger ale, and, finally, some chicken noodle soup.

Morning Army and others.
Sitting in an airport outside Rome, waiting for a flight to Amsterdam, thence onward to ATL, and finally BTR by mid morning Christmas. Twelve hour layover in ATL b/c Delta cancelled its late night Xmas Eve flight to BTR.
All good though. Got a couple of rooms at a hotel near the airport and plan to get a few hours sleep. And a Dr. Pepper. Because Italy does not have that sweet nectar of the gods.

Same. Approximately 3 decades of dipping. Stopped slowly over a couple of weeks. Stopped for good when, after doing the Zyn swallow thing for a few weeks, I climbed up a pole with a dip in my lip. Instinctively swallowed a full mouth of tobacco juice. Turned green. Felt sick to my stomach. And haven’t had a dip in over a month.
Depends. Which one of them baws is willing to start a roux before grabbing ahold of a gator. That’s not exactly the kind of dude you want to mess with.

Nothing to add here. Just checking into the GMT from chilly northern Italy. Riding on a train from Venice to Florence. Already past sunset here—not that it could really be seen due to rain/fog. It’s 5:15PM already, and I’m hungry.
