You got down voted to hell, (for whatever that’s worth)…but you’re exactly right. Anyone in leadership would tell you, it isn’t that guys place to pull himself. As a leader or coach you make that call.

I don’t care about downvotes on here anymore. It’s slowly turned into TideFans lite the last few years.

Mad respect for his toughness but why was he playing? Sorry but there is toughness and then there is stupidity.

I am not saying Mack was better or worse but damn, At what point does a coach not step in and say, “son, you’re a tough son of bitch, but you’re not helping your team.”

It would be shortly thereafter said coach grew a pair of balls and acted like a leader. Apparently, we don't have anyone like that on our staff.

How about a total boycott of “college” football until this silly shite goes away?

Watching these other teams, all with Saban disciples in the driver’s seat. Starting to feel like we missed out.

Byrne should’ve insisted that Saban be heavily involved in his replacement.

Absolutely. Everyone’s getting a concussion and a Newport at halftime

Saban wanted Houston Nutt to succeed him at LSU. His last couple of coordinator picks weren’t great. Not sure we wanted him picking the next guy.

I get he didn’t want the perception of him tampering with the football program after he retired, but Byrne should’ve insisted that he be heavily involved in the next guy. There’s no chance Deboer would’ve got the job if that was the case.

They are very confident out here.

For good reason. They are very good and we are not.

Not sure if that’s true but i did hear that byrne has been “popular” with alot of folks very lately.

A modicum of context, please?
Nah, this coach and his players are charmin soft mentally and physically. He was a terrible fit from the start and is a dead man walking at Alabama.

Everyone. Burn it to the ground and start over.

That's obviously not great, but are we really going to pretend this Indiana team is comparable to 1998 Arkansas?

I think my stat above is more glaring than the 98 loss to Arkansas. 3 of 7 losses by 21+ since 2000 have happened the last 2 years under Deboer. That’s a big problem.
Another fun fact - Alabama has lost by 21 points or more only 7 times since 2000. 3 of those 7 have happened the last two seasons under Kalen Deboer.

He is a dead man walking as the Alabama coach.
The buggest mistake Byrne made was looking at only statistics and not considering fit and personality. Kalen Deboer could not be a more terrible fit and personality for Alabama football.

Did Bama have a chance to get Cignetti? If so, why didn't we?

Because our AD panicked and hired a paper tiger.
Byrne better be ripping up that contract extension right the frick now.
quote:

I don't want to fire Deboer. But I'll be honest. I just don't really like the style of play he wants to have. It just lends towards getting physically bludgeoned like this.

Which does not cut it as the HC at Alabama. Period.
Screw this team and these coaches.
I don’t care that he made the CFP, I don’t care that he made the SECCG, I don’t care that he beat Auburn, I don’t care that he beat Tennessee. This is unacceptable.
All that bullshite could’ve been avoided by a simple handoff to a 245 pound running back.
