re: In depth interview with GRRM has people thinking Winds of Winter will never be finished
Posted by BluegrassBelle on 1/16/26 at 11:10 pm to weagle1999
If there’s anything consistent with GRRM is that he’s the perpetual victim, blaming everyone else for “ruining” his content.
This quote right here is why everyone loathes him. Of course WoW should be the priority! This motherfricker has just absolutely lost the plot.
And this is why I can’t tolerate his bitching that every show runner who gets hands on Westeros-based content is “ruining” things and he feels excluded. He MADE damn sure he wasn’t available so he could have someone to blame if it wasn’t perfect.
And so it continues. And when Dunk and Egg’s show gets passed what he’s written, he’ll balk and cry that he was robbed of creative control or the showrunners took over. Rinse and repeat.

I could finish The Winds of Winter pretty soon. It’s been made clear to me that Winds is the priority, but … I don’t know. Sometimes I’m not in the mood for that.”
This quote right here is why everyone loathes him. Of course WoW should be the priority! This motherfricker has just absolutely lost the plot.
quote:
But he still hasn’t written an episode of TV since season four of Thrones. “There has always been the possibility of me writing on the show,” he says. “But then things happen and suddenly I have other priorities.”

There is, however, one potential problem for the show’s future. “The big issue is that I have only written three novellas, and I have a lot more stories about Dunk and Egg in my fricking head,” Martin says, looking a bit shamefaced. “I’ve got to get them down on paper. I began writing two at various points in the past year. One is set in Winterfell and one set in the Riverlands …”
And so it continues. And when Dunk and Egg’s show gets passed what he’s written, he’ll balk and cry that he was robbed of creative control or the showrunners took over. Rinse and repeat.
re: Had to post this, Karen absolutely goes nuts on some hunters and they get the last laugh!

Am I the only one who thought her yelling 'frickoff!' sounded like a bad bird call?
The birder in me was like “Why is she calling for Blue Jays if she’s worried about Mallards?”

Ol’ boy probably should’ve just stayed at the Return to the Land compound to watch the game.
re: When it comes to cheating, who is more to blame: the married or the mistress?

He broke the vow. She helped break it. Math isn’t hard. That's a 50/50 equation where if the mistress didn't exist, it wouldn't happen.
And if she didn't know he was married?
I went on three dates with a guy that was married once without knowing he was married (this was pre-dating apps/social media being mainstream so much easier to get away with). Ended it when his wife called me from his cell phone (where I was listed as "Tom"). That also 50/50 accountability?

Dude, it’s not like Austin is going to have dramatically different food than the rest of the country. Their BBQ isn’t that different than what you’ll find in most of the south (unless you’re some type of hard core foodie).
Mexican food in Texas is absolutely different than what I’m getting in Kentucky.
Same with brisket.

It wasn’t in overtime.

Sorry, S.
A friend mailed me a King Cake that came today. Suppose I’ll have a piece tonight to celebrate. Take ‘em where I can get ‘em.

Missed the back end of a one and one. That pretty well sums up this squad.

The women’s matchup between our teams was much better. And I’m not exaggerating.

NIL is leveling the playing field and their championship coach is gone. Kentucky’s run is over.
Kentucky has won 8 NCs with 5 different coaches. Gonna take a bit more than this to sink the program.

Arkansas destroyed their program. It’s beautiful.
Oakland and St. Peter’s happened on your boy’s watch.
As per usual, y’all give yourselves far too much credit.

We might single handedly save the bourbon industry, tariffs be damned. :wah:
