Light use. Just hauling bikes and ice chests and household stuff. Some 4wd.

Sounds like you really don't need a full size truck, unless you really just want one. A Tacoma or similar would probably get the job done for you.

If you want to go full size, every brand has it's issues right now because of current regulations. Really there's no choice that's all that much better than the next.
No idea who the guy is, but most pre-season polls have us in the 15-18 range. Seems like the going thought is mostly that we won't be in the playoffs.

End of the day, who cares? The games will determine all of the outcomes.

Economists sit in ivory towers and enjoy the smell of their own farts. Investors take advantage of buying opportunities from volatility. Sorry you missed out.

No idea what those are; but It likely means she's fat and has blue hair.

I'd be curious to see the differing answers from this scenario and the same one but instead of 10k there's an OT10 ready to bang you.

Trick question, OT10's are a myth.

If we're going to split hairs, it's a public "academic" university. The state doesn't fund a single dime to the athletic department.

It doesn't matter the funding source, the athletic department budget is considered public money and subject to oversight and public records law. This is especially true when the athletic department get annual money from state gambling tax revenue.

quote:

LSU athletic spending is very transparent. You can look up how much they earned, how much they spent (broken down by sport), how much earned by ticket sales, media rights, donations, etc. You can look up how much they owe in revenue sharing (20 million), how much they pay coaches, how much they still owe Kelly, etc. That's pretty fricking transparent.

Good. That shouldn't change.
quote:

If LSU has to divulge exactly how our shared revenue is divided, and other states do not have to do this, it will put LSU at a competitive disadvantage.

It's a public University, where and how they spend every penny should be fully transparent. That goes for every university funded by the public.

Tour X for me. 100ish speed. 4 doz for $120 is hard to beat

Maxfli Tour / X / S are a great balls for the price. They take Dicks / Golf Galaxy discount coupons as well. Ended up paying under $25 per box last time.

Ben Griffin won on tour playing the Tour X last year. Definitely punches above its price.
The only thing that may be relaxing about that is the likelihood of one of them having a gun in there is pretty low.

Just for clarification it's "Learing Center".

And they all tell me they are winning.

My brother in law kept telling everyone how much he was winning and how great he was at picking bets... right up until my sister in law told everyone about the $35,000 debt they were in and needed to clear his marker.

We helped them out last time and they paid us back quickly, but he's back to betting again recently. We told them we wouldn't be helping this time. If he hasn't learned his lesson, we're not getting involved again.

What does the Spear or Arrow stand for?

Can we just be honest and not subtle?

This is the intentional slow crawl back to their proper name. Unless it's been misreported the new owner has been considering going back to the Redskins. I'm sure the league is giving him friction about that.

The Nasdaq is lower than in October

And yet 40% higher than one year ago today and gained 6,715 in that time. The end of October was the all-time high for Nasdaq and we're currently about 400 points off that. Is butting up against an all time supposed to be bad?

The total market index funds, VTSAX, for example

Specific fund pricing is not the market index. Fund holdings are weighted even in total market funds. Invidia makes up more than 6% of VTSAX, so fund performance is weighted toward certain individual stock performances. Funds are not an even sweep of an index. Same for FSKAX

but the market is largely in the same place that it was several months ago at the end of October last year.

What index are you looking at? The Dow Jones total stock market index reached an all time high of 69,049 in January, we're at 68,953 as of 1:30 today. We're several hundred points above any high in October.

The market isn't just the S&P 500 or DJIA.

"Well, all items sold well, but one item - a yard gnome - sold incredibly well, so much so that there were very long queues forming just for the opportunity to buy one. We could probably charge ten times more for them than we currently do and they'd still sell out. Should I raise the price and increase the order size for next year?"

"Absolutely not! Cancel them completely and never sell them again."

I'm not complaining, mind you, I just find it funny.

I stopped and chatted with one of the folks wearing a green jacket a few years back. I asked them how and why they keep concession costs so low. Their response was "Son, we don't need your money"

I thought that was pretty funny.

What a strange first game he had this season He will have his ERA down around 2 by the end of the year.

He was pitching a little too deep in the zone and gave up some hits. The only thing strange is that O'neil Cruz dropped two balls that a little leaguer could catch and kept the Mets going in the inning. If he catches those Skenes probably goes into the dugout having given up two runs and then pitches into the 5th inning.

I feel like no one gave a frick about the gnomes until a year or two ago. Never even knew that was a thing when I went to augusta in 2017.

They weren't a thing in 2017. They did the first gnome in 2016 and didn't do one in 2017. They brought it back in 2018 through this year.

But to your point I was there in 2019 and had no idea they existed.

If Mickelson wasn't such a dumbass he'd probably have 2-3 more majors.

He had 6 second place finishes at the US Open, 5 of them he had a legit chance to win and 3 of them he outright blew it. I think the only one he gets a pass on is 2002. He started the final round 5 back to Tiger and got it within 3 strokes. Really, Tiger in his prime isn't going to blow a 5 stroke lead on Sunday.

For all the majors you could argue that he pissed 7 of them away. Some were tough losses, but about 5 of them he really should have won.

As for the OP question. Seems as if Scottie is the only one you would take if you had a gun to your head.

It would be cool if Spieth could pull off a late career PGA win. If you look at his career he was really only elite for about 18 months. Then came the swing changes. Chasing distance kind of wrecked his game. Not sure if he has enough game to really take it to that level. The PGA is kind of the least impressive of the majors because of selling out to substandard courses and not having major conditions in the somewhat distant past, but usually has the overall toughest field. You have to play great golf to win that one.

Morikawa and Xander are young enough to pull it off. Keopka to me is the wild card. You never really know if he is mentally and physically aligned to win.

One glaring omission (Bobby Jones) and Gary Player at 11 is WAY too low. The rest of the list is pretty reasonable. I have:

Yeah, I left Jones out simply because he was never a tour pro. He was an all time great, but not sure how to align him with the others. I think he's kind of a category all his own.

I struggled where to put player, just because anyone with similar major wins has a lot more regular tour wins. He's up there with Watson and Hogan, but they both have a lot more tour wins. Understand that he had a ton of wins internationally, but it's hard to weigh those.

I generally put more importance on majors, but in cases like Palmer having 24 more total wins that Watson, I put him ahead even though he had one less. End of the day, it's really hard to do a list like this, so many good arguments to be made for so many players.

One big miss is I totally forgot about Sarazen, that was a big omission.
