re: Should we be concerned the Chinese are pumping up krill 24/7 in Antarctica?

Should we be concerned? Yes, they are the foundation of the food chain.
Thought this was illegal by treaty, guess not. Maybe that only applies to Antarctica land mass resource extraction activity.
Some years ago a South African oil company wanted to wide area recon explore there, land and sea, using geophysical survey methods and core sampling. They were shot down with the quickness by the original treaty authorities. China was not a signatory at the time, but now have consultive status.

The young adults pushing for freedom is a big positive for Iran over most other muslim countries in the Middle East, but they may not have the stomach or the will to fight on their own. The regime loyalists are going to fight back including asymmetrical warfare later like the Bathists and terrorists did in Iraq to try and break their will.
I believe they have the will but not the means (weapons) or training to fight against Iran's regular or paramilitary forces. Mossad is deeply embedded there with assets that might facilitate an effective lethal capability for them.
Time will tell. Iran's IRGC must be wiped out to the greatest extent possible, for starters.

You may be correct that Christianity arises in some proportion following a best case outcome, the later of course very much uncertain. Persians are more sophisticated than other ME Muslim countries, albeit prior to the radical theocracy coming in power.
Something I didn't know, recognizing Saudis and Iranians have differing interpretations of Islamic theology.
"Yes, following the 9/11 attacks, many Iranian citizens held candlelight vigils, marched in solidarity, and observed moments of silence for American victims in 2001. Notably, Iranians gathered in Tehran's Mohseni Square on September 18, 2001, to light candles, and 60,000 spectators observed a minute of silence during a soccer match in Tehran."
They were the only ME Islamic country to do so.

That school bomb hit was determined to be a failed Iranian missile launch. Our guidance systems are far too sophisticated to inadvertently strike civilian targets. Tightly coupled mil spec GPS/INS and some equipped with terrain mapping data base guidance.

These few months will go down in history as one of the greatest geopolitical power moves of our time. The end result remains to be seen, but anyone with even a remote awareness of how the world works understands it. They don't have to like it.
The President or his proxies haven't explained the end game, except to urge Iranian citizens to take control of their government. Unarmed citizens elated at events will be up against the IRGC and others who recently killed tens of thousands of protesters.
Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq, essentially all regime change justified at the time, didn't turn out as predicted.
The administration has not made the case on how this regime change military operation ends favorably to our and our allies long term interest.
Destruction of their nuclear enrichment capability was already accomplished. Restarting that is not a short term project.

View from 30,000 feet from a knowledgeable geopolitical analyst. The Fog of War and Law of Unintended Consequences is always in play.
Congress should have been consulted, even as Iran is a contemptible murderous regime pursuing nuclear weapons. I pray this concludes in the best manner possible to our interests, and all our military in theater safely return home.

It’s not just business… it’s the attitude in general. In Louisiana the answer was always “no”. “We can’t do that.” When I moved to Texas, the answer is always yes. “Yes it can be done.”

Great advice for a 7 year old, including the other posts above.
To the OP, went thru a similar situation 2 years ago, cognitive decline, blind, incontinent but seemingly healthy and still eating.
Except I had the 7 year old mind set, one of the saddest things I've ever had to do. But he was miserable, and I'd selfishly kept a beloved dog long ago way past her comfortable lifetime.
Very, very difficult, my condolences.

Who pays for the ever present, ubiquitous PI advertising on radio, TV and billboards? You do.
But no worries, tort reform legislation will lower auto insurance rates any day now, where we're routinely stuck in the top 3 highest rates in the nation.
Ignore the reasons given later for why that legislation failed to deliver, they'll get it right next time.

We could begin to try and stop coastal land loss by diverting MS River sediments into the marsh, rebuilding land proven to mitigate hurricane damage. Let’s call it the Mid Barataria Diversion and get the Feds to agree to pay for it from the BP settlement funds.
Oops, blew that one due to the myopic political lens where the interest of the few overrides the greater good.
But not to worry, our governor is the lead in trying to negotiate the acquisition of Greenland, because who would know more about arctic geopolitics than a Cajun politician who gave us the highest sales tax in the nation, along with requiring the Ten Commandments be posted in our schools, the key issues he’s resolved thus far.
One more Katrina especially one that travels up the river towards Nola and BR, the long feared worst case scenario, and I doubt the Feds will have the appetite to bail us out again.
Among other intractable issues, so it goes. Huey Long is alive and well in Louisiana, where politicians serve to enrich themselves and their cronies.

This training was a defense service under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Brown, a U.S. person under the ITAR, lacked the required license from the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) to provide that training to foreign persons or foreign military units.
State directs ITAR compliance consulting with DoD and other "interested" governmental agencies that "wish to remain anonymous" in my few experiences with exports to China, which our DC attorney handled as point, including conference calls with the U.S. agencies involved.
If he didn't get an ITAR license, as alleged was required, he's fricked.
The cartels aren't as predominate in that part of Mexico as others, West and Gulf coasts and border areas. As long as you understand even in Cancun they own the justice and LEO systems through bribes you can't match, and if the shite hits the fan you're fricked, then go. Tourists aren't a target but a bystander, bullets don't care. Be a smart tourist and stay within the resort area.
It's as fricked up as I've seen in the last 30 years. Our company attorney in Mexico City drives a beater subcompact so he won't get kidnapped, just robbed. I've told my family to stay out of Mexico for vacations. Which is sad, the drug business has ruined the country beyond the normal low level bribes (mordida) endemic to their culture when dealing with authorities.
