re: Rockets determined to trade Asik by Dec 19
Posted by Hornetsbball247 on 12/6/13 at 7:28 pm to St Augustine
Nola - Courtney Lee and Omer Asik
Boston - Eric Gordon and Isaiah Canaan
Houston - Kris Humphries and Marshon Brooks
Nobody other than Gordon gets significant minutes for their team. I'm not sure how Houston would feel about this but they get a young player in Brooks who played pretty well his rookie year but hasn't had much of a chance in Boston. They also get Humphries who is an expiring contract that they can either flip at the deadline or let expire and have more cap space for free agency this off season.
This allows the pelicans to keep Evans off the bench since Lee could come in and start at the two. Lee is a career 38% three point shooter who could also play at the end of the game if we want to play Evans at the three.

I dont know how realistic this would be but
Step 1
Hornets Get - Kevin Martin, Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, Hasheem Thabeet
Rockets Get - Chris Paul, Okafor, Next years 1st draft pick, this years 2nd
Step 2
West picks up his option
Hornets Get - Andray Blatche, Javale McGee
Wizards Get - David West, Aaron Gray
Step 3
Chouest buys team
Buy first round pick and draft Marshon Brooks
PG Lowry, Jack
SG Martin, Brooks
Sf Ariza, Q-pon
PF Scola, Blatche
C McGee, Blatche, Thabeet

Yea but the difference between Okafor and Spencer Hawes is way bigger than the difference between Iggy and Thaddeus Young or Evan Turner. Plus they are also a lot younger and cheaper.

Hornets Get:
Iggy
Marreese Speights
76'ers Get:
Okafor
Pondexter
Why Philly Does it:
Gets rid of a guy who might not want to be there that has an expensive contract. Lets their young talent get more playing time. Trading away a position where you have a lot of depth for a position where you dont have much depth.
Phillys lineup:
PG Holliday/ Lou Williams
SG Turner/Meeks
SF Young/Q-pon
PF Brand
C Okafor/Hawes
Hornets lineup:
PG Paul/ Jack
SG Iggy/belinelli?
SF Ariza
PF West/Landry
C Speights/Gray

What do you guys think about Scotty Hopson from Tennessee. Hes 6'7 and really athletic, can play both SG and SF, and is also a pretty good shooter.
re: Iggy back on the trade block?

There trading away a player who plays a position where they are very deep and possibly doesn't even want to be there, for a player who is at a position where they dont have much talent.
They could just replace Iggy with Thaddeus Young while Mek would be a huge improvement over Spencer Hawes.

Before his injury he was actually shooting pretty well. In January he shot 45% from the field and 38% from 3.

CP and MT5

Pavlovic

When Ariza comes back do you guys think Pavlovic could start at the 2. I know we might lose some offense but he can't be that much worse offensively then Belinelli and I think it would make us a lot better defensively.
