Varnedoe's new menu debuted last night. Now is the time to go check out IPO again.

And to settle the debate, IPO is definitely meant to be the stock market term in order to reflect a downtown business climate and because it is underneath The Office bar which has the same owners. Not saying it is a good name, but that is what it means.
What's the bar? I might be in.
This video makes me happy. And thirsty.
I'd also throw in something for "creativity". "Appearance" is usually how the "visual" category is listed.

Darrell's Special with Jalapeno Mayo is one of the best sandwiches ever created. Hand's down. Divine.

Never good to waste a bourbon stout. A little Bayou Teche Grenade in a chutney on the other hand... well that's the second best thing you could do with it.

Anybody members of any BBQ boards or anything like that where we could post this? Where are those other guys posting their recipes other than facebook and twitter?
Go to Fat Cow and get a burger ... and then be disappointed. They cook to one temperature: well done. Crappy pre-formed patties that are over-cooked. I get tired of this same old beef.

I will say though that it is seasoned fairly well, the bun is delicious, and the duck fat fries are legit.

Love me some Slap Ya Mama. They were (still are, kinda) the official Cajun Seasoning of the Third Row Tailgaters!

Max was definitely good for TV. Seemed like a true cocksucker, but I agree that he did have a different POV.

Gordon Ramsay - "Have you been drinking that?"

Bite and Booze - "I had a couple shots while I was cooking."

Bwahahahahahah!!! Best part of the whole show.

That guys a real douche.

I know you guys are kidding around, but some people take this crap pretty seriously. That dude is one of the nicest guys I know. And he drinks good, craft beer... which is always a plus.
The contest at Frankie's was an hour. It turns out that once you get past 15 minutes or so, you've really done 80-90% of your damage. That's why all the Major League Eating contests are 8-12 minutes. Jay and one of the guys that puked both did about 7 in the first 10 minutes, but then Jay only ate 4 in the next 50 minutes to get to 11. But nobody else was close.

This place is on my "Do not eat" list. Which is too bad, because the brewhouse concept certainly appeals to me.

That thing is insane. The bad part is, it can't really taste that good.

Frankie's Dawg House Hot Dog Contest

Did anybody else know about this contest yesterday for the 4th of July? The record there is only 13 hot dogs in one hour. Think you could do it? YouTube

re: Let's talk about food trucks

Posted by TeamTiger3 on 4/15/11 at 4:02 pm to
Follow the trucks on Facebook and Twitter... by far the easiest way to know what's going on and where to find them.

And try the grilled cheeses at A Coffee Truck. They're pretty good. One time they had an apple butter and brie grilled cheese.
The Wednesday Wroundups are relatively closed events for a couple reasons:

1) There is limited space at those venues and 5-6 trucks in the those private lots are about all you can fit.

2) The owners of the 5-6 trucks that are involved with it have created a really popular event, and they don't necessarily want every new truck on the block to just come benefit from the work they've already done, especially if that could mean cutting their profits or taking their space in the parking lot.

3) The existing owners have an agreement whereby they won't cook the same style of food or open up a rival style food truck. The newer trucks haven't been a part of that and have come in with trucks that are in more direct competition based on style of food (such as the Taqueria truck and Taco de Paco). They don't like that. I can understand why. Jared (Ninja Snowballs and Taco de Paco) isn't going to go open up a burger truck (Curbside) because that's already in the group.

There is definitely room for another group of trucks to band together. That's the obvious and clear path here. Three Bones, Salivation Station, All Star, the upcoming GeauxYo, and this Taqueria truck should all get together and do their own thing on Thursday nights or something!

Thanks for the recipe! Any more restaurant suggestions? There has to be more of them out there than this, right?

Ceviche in Baton Rouge

Anybody know where to find ceviche at restaurants in BR? I know Bonefish Grill has one, as does Superior for what I hear. Any other places you've had it?
