Yes this area has grown, more than we like but progress happens and we adapt.
Great to have LSU playing this close, usually we have to go to Gainesville for the Tigers Gators football games to see them.
Drop a line next time in your in FB and we can get a drink together.

We will be there all 3 days section 104 to support LSU Tigers.
Great to have them play here, looking forward to a wonderful weekend.
While Mecum has a spot at the Daytona Turkey Run I believe they quit doing the auction. However there is the car corral where over 1,500 custom cars, hot rods are for sale. it is inside the Daytona International Speedway and runs for 4 days. There are some very impressive cars, they have engine builders, car kits, swap meet, a good 2 days to walk everything. They have the Spring show but it is quite smaller.
Last Years Website.
I know you said big box stores, but i have a couple of the Delta Kites from Kitty Hawk Kites that are well made and fly really well. these are not kids throw away kites as they run from $44-$120. I bought mine in Pensacola at the store but they are available online.
400-500k miles or longer, have only had 2 vehicles since 1993, bought 1992 F150 in 93 with 7k miles on it, inline 6, still have it with 385k miles on it, bought an 2006 F150 Lariat super crew in 2012 with 67k miles and drive it to/from work weekly with 269k miles on it. I maintain and work on my own vehicles and dread the day I have to get my retirement truck to tow our camper and travel the USA.
St. Johns Town Center has nice options for hotels and night life, TopGolf if you enjoy that, Indoor Skydiving, plenty of restaurants and shopping. Farther north is River City by Jacksonville International Airport has shopping and restaurants, I live in Fernandina, and we have a nice downtown area with plenty to do and hotels. We will be at all the games as well.
I know there are nothing but degenerates on this board and we can never be seen together but it would be nice if maybe we could meet for a few minutes and say hello. :geauxtigers:
I have heat trace on my pipes and insulated, use a device called EasyHeat that is plugged into the receptacle, it activates-turns on at 38 degrees and off at 50, you can plug in lights, heater, anything rated at 15 amps and below. this eliminates having to be home or remember to turn lights on.
Also for water spickets look at freeze miser outdoor faucet protection, opens at 37 and lets water drip so pipes do not freeze.
Southern Soul BBQ is good, was on Triple D, if you are inclined to go off Island into Brunswick Hootenanny's at the Yard is also good BBQ.
Fort Frederica and Christ Church is a nice area especially if you enjoy history, if craft beer is your thing Barrier Island Brewing is a nice spot for cold beer and good food, a stroll down Mallery St. at the pier and Neptune park is relaxing for people watching and a nice play area for kids.
Pirates Dinner Adventure was very good, as stated about Medieval Times, You have to buy into it, I was called onto the ship (stage) as a participant and i did the Captain Morgan Pose while on stage. A few people noticed because they stopped me after and mentioned it.

I've never done a supplemental oxygen jump, that had to be pretty cool! Did you just breathe Os in the plane or did you have to keep it on during the jump?

It was first load of the day (early-7am) and we were jumping from Cessna C208 Caravan, they promised extra altitude, we used a can of O2 on the way up then just jumped, about 90 seconds of freefall.
Hiking was Sperry Chalet West Glacier Montana 6,500'

I did fly to get to 18,500' but when we got to this altitude 8 of us jumped from the plane, so i have been at 18,500' in the open air with nothing around me but 7 other emotionally stable persons freefalling to earth.

Have you decided on where you are staying?

I have the weekend package for all 3 days, will be sitting in section 104 behind the Home Team Dugout.
Did you change your mind on staying in the city?
I saw your "Food and Drink" board request for where to eat in Fernandina-Amelia Island, figured you may be staying in Fernandina now.

We are staying in the city

Why? Down town? Nothing really to do with kids unless there is a ball game or concert and really not walkable from the hotels to the venues.
I see a cross country event around Oct. 31, if you are doing this one then our zoo has a well put together Halloween event that is fun for everyone.
Go Karts-Autobahn indoor karting.
Fly Away Indoor Skydiving
Topgolf ??
Callahan Fair Oct. 9-19.
Greater Jacksonville Fair Nov. 6-16.

Really depends on what you like, great spots to kayak, Ft. Clinch is nice, golf courses, downtown Gregor MacGregors Mini Links & drinks, Duck Pinz bowling, Restaurants- Salty Pelican, Wicked Bao, The Boat House, Moon River Pizza.
Beach Restaurant's- Salt Life (expensive for what it is), Sandbar, Sliders.
Breweries (with food) AIBC, First Love Brewery, Mocama Brewery (not my favorite).
Off Island-Restaurants- Down Under, Shuckers, Gators Dockside, Black Cat Pizza.
Breweries (with food) The Brew Shed (our hangout), SJ's Brewery,
Probably more than you wanted. let me know if you need more specifics.
Do you have hotel preference-rewards, Beach area is good along with airport area, plenty of food options around here depending on what you prefer.
I'm in Fernandina area and it's an easy drive to the ball games. Pretty sure I will be there if I can get tickets.
I'm here in Jacksonville and work 1/2 mile from the port. I've only seen Carnival ship and the Princess website doesn't show anything departing from here. Maybe coming soon?
