Top 30 offensive efficiency almost every season (was 24 Kenpom this past season), gimme that muh streetball, all day, every day.

Yep, great until you play high talent + competent coaching and then it bows out. See it repeatedly

But aye, y'all got it. Enjoy the middle of the road mediocrity. Deuces

PK says retarded shite but the basketball fans know it has nothing to do with basketball, it’s an Ed O thing he’s obsessed with. You have exceeded his retardation but you’re serious. Nothing you’ve said is true or less say provable because we know what you people do with terms like true. “He loses everywhere he goes” “empty trophy cases”, these are factually false and the only hint at data you’ve provided ego every attempt at “fact” you’ve made has been the inverse of reality

Sure .sure...so then what has he won as a head coach other than mid major conference titles? And does that equate to the success you expect at LSU...a second time around? Cause that's the baseline.

Doesn’t run 4 corners or the weave enough most likely. Thats the “Xs and Os” he’s not good at lol.

Hate both of those so no, but go rewind the tape on his first stint. What was the offense? There was none. Straight street ball. Pick and roll, make a decision to attack or pass or clear out for 1-1. Basically, what was ran. Watch the quality of the plays. Not hard to see and when other teams deciphered, he had no counter. That was most of the losses. He just stood over there chewing gum looking dumbfounded that his athletes didn't beat disciplined teams. I mean, just run the tape. I know these things cause I ACTUALLY WATCH THE GAMES.

Absolutely zero context

You want context? Recent final fours on average boost recruiting and success rate for P4 teams in following years even thru coaching changes. Especially if he's the coach you all believe then he should have been able to immediately get the ball rolling in those respects, right? What hindered him? Unlike McMahon, who as much of a shxt coach he is, had to contend against the damaged reputation of this program, due to Wade.

Context. Keep up... mentally.

Lmao thanks for confirming, you’re an idiot. That’s the only evidence of anything you’ve given.

VCU, LSU, McNeese and NC State's respective rafters and trophy cases are filled with the evidence of emptiness from the Will Wade eras that support my facts.

Enjoy fantasy land, I prefer reality.
quote:

So why are you here?

Why are you? Dick riding a requirement to post? I didn't realize. My bad.
Actually I thought McMahon was horrible and much worse than Wade. I just think Wade is shxt too and have thought that since his first stint. He paid for talent and could still only get to 1 sweet sixteen at LSU. Consistently underperformed in big games.

At VCU, he got hired at LSU off Shaka Smart's left overs. Had a run at McNeese but think about it, he had an established name at a mid major. You will attracted underrated talent and can compete on that level and that kind of hunger will get you a few wins against the P4.

What did he do at NC State? Nothing and they were what, a year or 2 removed from a Final Four.

The evidence has been there, but you all ignored it cause you think arrogant, brash a-holes who stick to their guns means folks are "one of us".

What happens when the kids and parents who have to buy into that don't think it's as great as you all do?

He's gonna get some kids eventually but do I expect a title or even a final four, no, not really.

Yes, most of this board worships at the feet of all things born and bred of idiocy.

He can't coach x's and O's and now that everybody is paying folks, there is no advantage to sacrifice playing for a competent coach over a payday when you can have both.

Down vote it to hell, IDC.

Yea this one tells me Kim is going all in on proven talent and that she already has commitments.

She usually does announce all at once.

This is going to be interesting!
McMiller is an interesting one. High profile out of high school, lived up to it at each stop at Rutgers and Penn State. Heard about the huge ego, that's Kim's jam but sharing the ball has not been her thing. If she's finally tired of trying to do it alone, she's a great fit for Kim and the style of play but then, what's the lineup because she's not an off the bench player. Does Fulwiley agree to come of the bench again in that scenario?

Janneh, would be a great pick up off the bench subbing Knox or vice versa.

Crump is a great fit to spell the 2/3 with an elite 3 point shooter to space the floor. Her with any of the 3 guards and the way they can penetrate and kick would be very hard to stop.

Edwards would be an obvious yes, its her and Knox on the floor at the same time that makes me excited. Those 2 running both sides of the floor with any guard who can dish for the next 3/4 years would be great.

Trygger, I just don't get unless you can add an athletic 5 too, because she's just Koval with a better shot. Nice to have bodies but we need someone who can run and defend athletic bigs from other teams as well.
Already has Lauren's younger sister Siena. It's basically her spot and they've been preparing her for it all year, she was a Freshman this year. I could see Close trying to run double bigs but I just don't think she's a great coach. Feel like she got lucky getting Betts from Stanford after Tara left and just had a bunch of Seniors who knew their role, did their job and executed.

Trygger can be physical inside, shoots the 3 too much for me but can shoot it, wouldn't get that opportunity here but I would say is basically Koval with better rebounding and but everything else is really a wash. About the same speed, gets in foul trouble too. Honestly, not much difference
The discussion of dominance came from the post I replied to stating about how we get dominated by other teams big girls and need some to return that. If you read that you'd understand the context in which I stated, Merkle is not that.

My point was she would not be as productive with LSU because 1. Our pace is too fast for her to succeed because Mulkey like to play a certain style. 2. She would not be a focus of the offense like at Penn State

My previous post becomes even more relevant after last night. The two games I mentioned, that mattered are the two teams in the national championship tomorrow. She has decent, not great showings in blowouts. The worse of the two against the style we play and see night in and night out. It's not a match.

Hence my mentioning Woolfolk who's a perfect fit. Reynolds who we played this year and cause us problems is also a good fit. I'd hoped Cody and Jones and Bama had gotten in the portal since Curry left bit the didn't.

Why a 1 year, non fit isn't what you're looking for? Because Williams and Fulwiley are Seniors next year. You have a chance to compete for a title. You don't bring in a piece you expect to swallow up extensive starting time, that changes your whole pace and style of play and then make them have to do a total rebuild on chemistry. You need plug and play pieces and that boosts you for the year after where currently we don't have a true star on this roster as of now.

I think it's more of process if elimination thing, who do you start over her? I love Hines play but unless she takes jump over the summer I think she might not be starter quality til mid way thru SEC but it's going to happen. Behind that are no other guards.

The alternative is playing Richard, moving Williams to the 2 and Zakiyah at the 3 (her natural spot) then Knox and Koval or transfer big.

We for sure will see that lineup during the year but I think Johnson has to take a big leap on her outside shooting and ball handling to get there. She's got a 2/3 body with a 4 skill set.
That's the point. She didn't dominate any other big girls. Go look at the schedule. Only 2 games matter, UCLA who plays a slow pace but had 6-7 Betts, she had 15 and 4 and they lost by 36, Betts had 25 and 7. Against South Carolina, (SEC size and speed) she had 9 and 9 and they lost by 40 and Okot didn't even play, Edwards had 29.

If with LSU she would be constantly behind the play and would slow down LSU's entire offense, especially with someone like Fulwiley starting next year. She would consistently get beat on the defensive end in the open floor by teams that have bigs that run ...ie ALL THE GOOD ONES.

She also is a Junior so she only has 1 year left. You don't take that over more athletic kids that will be Sophomores and Juniors next year
I believe she is but she went to Florida specifically to avoid the pressure of LSU and the O'Neal name. After hearing the interview Shareef did, I wouldn't be surprised if it stayed that way but she would be a great fit. Big who can board on defense but needs get a little better in man but on offense she is a 4 that can hit the 3, something LSU has not had under Mulkey but I question if Mulkey actually wants that. She seems to want to run 2 combo guards with a 3 and a post on either side of the lane. Drive and kick, rebound potential miss on either side. Women's game is starting to evolve beyond that being the only way to win.
quote:

Gracie Merkle, 6-6, C, Jr. (19.2 ppg, 8.2 rpg)

That's who we want.

As I posted under the thread about her, she's s horrible fit. Not built for the pace or the physicality of the SEC. Those stats are a mirage. She was the #2 player on a team so bad her stats had no choice but to look good. She's a mirage.

Woolfolk is bonafide and insert ready now.

Watch the game, not highlight reels and read stats.
Woolfolk from Georgia has entered the portal. She is a no brainer for Kim. They need to go all in on her. 2 years left, physical, can score, can rebound, can defend. Perfect system fit.
Definitely need another guard. Richard, Fulwiley and Williams start more than likely. Hines off the bench, with no Bourrage you need another guard off the bench as Lampley is more a 3/4.

Remember we also lost Gilbert who I think was a critical loss to this team this year, unless her issue is resolved and she's asks for another season. You definitely need at least 1 more guard, maybe 2.
You have to understand just how bad Penn State was to understand why this is a bad idea. Her stats look good but are just the result of her and Kyomi Miller being the only people who could consistently do ANYTHING. Dont be fooled.

Go get Essence Cody AND Naomi Jones from Bama. Kristi Curry is gone. They could follow her but if they want to stay in the SEC those 2 plus Koval and Knox and Lampley and Z. Johnson if you want to go small should be more than enough. With the guard play to give multiple lineup looks with different levels of athleticism, defense and scoring.

GOAT

No offense but his name is Charles Smith at Peabody. He won ring #10 as head coach and #11 overall today.

1235 wins, top 5 national history and in the Naismith HOF.

We started 2 Freshmen and a Junior most of this year and move to 5A next year in district with Ruston (who we beat this year) and have a chance at having titles in 3A, 4A and 5A.
