it's a chickfila. the owner took control of the lease last year and finally started stage one of construction recently. it'll be open by the end of spring/early summer
we have rights from lake charles all the way to jefferson parish. and we have a contract to open 15 total within 10 years. but within the next 2, almost all of them will be open. lake charles, laffy, baton rouge, lsu campus, denham springs, slidell, hammond, covington, mandeville, metairie, and other locations that are still being determined
the lsu location is opening first, then a metairie location, then the laffy location.
i actually work at the one that just opened in Covington. it's a great place, and i'm not just saying that because i work there. i've been a fan of their food for years since i first had it in florida. the beef is 100% and is not frozen like most fast food places. there is no freezer at any five guys location, everything is made fresh. the fries are hand cut every day, throughout the day. we will go through 100 lbs of potatoes in under 10 minutes. it's not fast food though, and that's a common misconception and people get mad when their orders take longer than 3 or 4 minutes to have ready. our goal ticket time is no longer than 7 minutes to have your fresh burger and fries ready. average ticket time is usually between 4 and 5 minutes. the owners are opening a new location off lsu's campus first, then shortly after opening a location across from lakeside mall in metairie and then the lake charles location will be open. and then within the next 10 years, they'll have another 10 locations opening in smaller suburbs in louisiana. but i promise you, the food is good, i'm actually eating a double cheeseburger with bbq sauce and ketchup as i'm typing this.
it's opening up on June 13th
