I completely disagree with the way the staff has either dropped people or just stopped talking to them out of no where.

This is one reason I like the early signing day. It forces teams to put their cards on the table a little sooner and give the players a chance to find a backup plan. Better that we kick Albert to the curb now, with a month to find a new school, then that we do it at the last moment when all the teams are full.

If I'm Brandon Frazier watching this class, I think I'm eating a lot of cheeseburgers this winter.

The guy is behind two TEs in his own class, looks like he's behind Rice who's younger than him, and now Riley-Ducker is coming in. Wonder if he has a better chance of starting at OT than TE. He's already 6'7", 267 (listed).

If we miss on Citizen, our RB room is extremely thin.

Not sure I agree. We need three quality backs in any given year.

In 2022, that can be Tank, Hunter, Alston. In case of emergency, Ingram and Jackson can at least fill snaps. Wouldn't want to start either of them, but at least one of them will be serviceable for spot work.

For 2023, we need someone but we have another year to get a freshman or transfer. It would be nice to get Citizen and have that nailed down, but I don't think it's the end of the world if we miss. Feels like a luxury, not a must-have.

?? Well, this aged well. Panic away, boys.
Some or all of them may have just been quarantined for covid contact tracing. Most coaches have been pretty cagey about that. Certainly expect some attrition as the new staff gets established but I don't think this particular news is the time to panic.

That's a misleading pie chart

Care to elaborate?
Says the guy in the 434 page recruiting thread...
And if we get him, we'll complain that Gus can't develop his own players, correct?
quote:

We missed Emory Blake so much in 2013 and 2014. Underappreciated WR at AU

And Darvin Adams before him. Since the two of them, we haven't had anyone that's just *reliable* at WR. Plenty of more exciting guys, plenty of better big-play guys, but no one that you just knew was going to catch anything he saw.

Kinda wish he was a tackle

We know Golson can play tackle, so if this guy ends up being good on the inside, maybe he can take over there and free Golson up to move outside when Avery Young / Shon Coleman leave.
He was wearing 91 yesterday to play some TE; he's never done it before. Not sure if it'll be a recurring thing or not.

Ole Miss also has former 5* Tee Shepard coming back next year. That has to hurt with Bridges.

Nick needs a breather every once in a while and this gives us a chance to give him a couple plays off to catch his breath without having to deal with the whole "oh god, there's a QB controversy" thing or damaging his confidence.
We had no chance with him anyways, but that still hurts to hear.

Showerbeer. Bourbon. Maybe a cup of coffee.
Well shite, we do the same thing here all the time. She's as qualified to have stupid opinions as the rest of us are.
Looks like he did. The site has already progressed everyone else, so I guess he got the redshirt.
Yeah, sorry. Meant to fix that and forgot to before I hit submit.

CB- JJones, Holsey,Mincy, Ford, Kamryn Melton and TJ all are back plus Trovin Reed moved

2 Safeties we have - Whitehead, King, Moncreif, Alexander Fisher and Khari Harding + Holsey and Garret/Therezie potentially based on use

Star- Therezie, Garrett and King

Well...

CB - Mincy and Reed are seniors. Ford is a safety last I heard, but can't really be counted on at either position. Holsey is good, but already a Junior. We haven't seen anyone else play enough yet for me to feel really good about them. We're not exactly stacked here.

S - Whitehead, King are Seniors. Fisher is gone, as E pointed out. Moncrief I can believe in, but again he's already a Senior.

Star - Therezie and King are seniors, and Garrett's a junior.

Of 15 people you listed, at least 6 will be gone from the roster in 2015. We're not *that* deep.

Hard to say. Conventionally, LT is the money position, followed by RT, with OG a distant third. But last year, we watched an OG and RT go 10th and 11th overall, so that may be changing. It kinda seems like OL positional values may be starting to equalize, so being at whichever position he's best at is what would be best for him.

I completely forgot that Melton existed. He didn't thrill when he hit the field last year, but he also only hit the field about twice so IDK what to think about him.
That's a shame. Deshaun seems to think we have a built in recruiting advantage there (Mobile) this year, but no-one to use it on.

Probably for the best though, since it's hard to see Davis, Williams, and Thornton combining to make a big impact as freshmen.
IMO / what I'd like to see ideally:

- Rudy plays special teams this year, like he did last. He may move to RB next year and take over after Corey Grant leaves, but right now he's not good enough at anything to be a starter.

- Holsey moves to corner and plays opposite Mincey. Jones is the first man off the bench as people get tired/injured. Bessent/Ruffin are the next men up.

Therezie moves to safety. Therezie/Moncrief/Whitehead are our "{true safety" rotation, situationally. Therezie plays second Star/Dime as required (see Holsey last year).

- Garrett moves (returns) to Star. Mackenro Alexander is his nominal backup, but in reality Therezie will move to Star and Moncrief/Whitehead will be left at safety. Therezie being able to play both spots is key here

- Bray moves to the speed slot role and D'haquille takes over his role on the outside.
Gotta love Deshaun Davis' enthusiasm:

Me @JTbigdreams6 & @Trew20 done started some! The whole city tryna come play for Auburn now! Lol #TurningHeads

Who are we recruiting from Mobile this cycle?
T-Rich and Marquis Maze both played a fair bit of wildcat for them.

Daq Williams is wearing #1 this year

Trovon Reed to CB confirmed?
We jumped 26 spots in the (early, meaningless) composite ranking after the Sullivan commit + Bridges and Smith getting ranked. Now 15th... 6th SEC West school

I think that's more about his 5* teammate than him - Martez Ivey. It was posted a couple pages back, but they seem to be a package deal.
JJ will start until Tyler Queen starts.

White's going to be the best damn backup in the nation... for 5 years. We'll moan because he's not starting... for 5 years.

He's accurate on short and intermediate throws, but we haven't seen many of those in Gus' offense. JJ has a bigger arm and is far, far more dangerous as a runner.
