Who gives a shite? If he stays for 6 years and then bolts for the NFL but in those 6 years is in the playoffs 4 times and plays for a title once then it would be worth it.

No probably not. Unless they keep evaluating players once they get to college and rerank recruiting classes every year. Then they might have a chance but that seems like they would need double the staff for very minimal returns

I dont think Jay would leave because there really isn't another place for him to go that is going to give him the advantages that LSU has. With that said, you still need to be bending over backwards for a man that has put together 2 title teams in 4 years. Give him what he needs and more and more fans will show up every year and LSU will continue to be one of 8 colleges featured on espn in June.

Baseball has several private donors that make up the difference but I do agree with your point. Excellence should be rewarded.
