Their fans don’t appreciate winning and it’s the same entitlement issue as the Gumps
I'm not saying these were unjustified, but as far as winning and entitlement go, hard to top the Tigers. They have fired 3 coaches in a row with winning records, 2 of whom won Natties (one Heisman between them) and the third also had a Heisman winner.
Why is it that you think people on this board define themselves by Alabama football’s individual game results as opposed to being invested in college football and being fans of Alabama? Are you sure that people don’t just like Alabama football and want to see them do better based on their potential?
What a coward. Kerr is ideologically possessed and deserves ridicule for dishonest proclamations like this one.
Yep. And that’s the new standard. It’s not enough that Oregon gets their arse beat too. What do you do to kick these frickers’ teeth in if we meet again?

I know everyone says this. And I don't know how much I mean it, or when it will happen...but there's just something about a 5 million dollar quarter back that can change schools 4 times in four years.

frick all that. The spirit of the sport is gone. This is now the NFL, but with no salary cap, unrestricted free agency, etc. And I don't like the NFL.

I may be on the way out.

Yep. There was a time I was a massive fan of the San Antonio Spurs. As a kid I watched NASCAR. Once there's nothing special about it, I tend not to watch as much anymore.
Watching these other teams, all with Saban disciples in the driver’s seat. Starting to feel like we missed out.

Cubelic is a keen observer.

Alabama has won the Joe Moore award twice. First in 2015 with Derrick Henry and the second in 2020 with one of the best offenses in college football history.
I'd bet that 2015 OL is the one he's referencing. They were quite mercurial, and Cristobal received a lot of flack for it.
Him and if we had been able to steal Geep Wade away from GT to coach the OL would have been sweet. Nebraska got him.

When Saban beat Arkansas - yes fricking Arkansas - in 2007 with a GWing TD with under 30 seconds remaining, it was cathartic because winning or losing against Arkansas was essentially a bell weather on the trajectory of the season (pretty good or bad).
And we had squandered a lead in that one, too.

I’m not celebrating the results, I’m simply saying this season is an improvement from last season. You don’t fire a second year head coach that showed improvement.

Again, who do you replace him with? I’d love to hear the ridiculous answers.
This is entirely reasonable.
It would also be reasonable to say that in Y3 we need to see a bigger leap than we saw (especially with regard to units that had dropoff this year) from Y1 to Y2.

What that leap should probably look like is a better run game of any kind, a defense that doesn't get flatfooted against teams who run to the edge, takes better angles, etc. An O-Line that is better at communicating and filling gaps, a QB who can trust his line with time and make at least 2-3 reads, and backs that can block and have speed.

what about Coach O as d line coach?
Not a great position coach, hates our program.
A coach changing his staff and philosophy to maintain or improve his team’s performance are fine and dandy if they work. If they don’t, especially with the talent squandered in a contentious time in which powers seem to rotate in and out, it’s grounds for much much closer evaluation.

Yep. The team/ coaches overachieved
I watched Crain and Co too.

Yeah, we were severely undisciplined and played a string of even less disciplined teams. It’s pretty obvious now. It’s amazing that we’re back to hard nosed and disciplined teams with simple schemes and emphasis on execution back in control.

That game felt like we were on the wrong side of the ‘08 blackout game at UGA, only with less points.
2017 UGA probably beats em. 2015 & 2018 Clemson too. 2011 LSU. 2014 OSU. That’s my best guesses as to previous opponents that outrank them. Other than that, I’m sure I’m missing several that could beat them. Either way, we never lost 38-3 to any of those teams. This whole thing feels like a reset to October 2006. Unsure, passed up.
I don’t want UGA to win but I imagine a coach shivering in Gatorade and losing would distract from our debacle in the media
