re: Kiffin and former players
Posted by Geaux-2-L-O-Miss on 1/16/26 at 11:01 pm to Laugh More
Prior to his years at Ole Mrs there was no NIL and the portal was not open free agency. So, there is no way to compare his previous stints as a head coach to the current situation.
Thanks for your concern and lack of knowledge.

Since Kiffin left a month ago how would he know the current contract amounts for new players and what Ole Piss is offering existing players. I would assume those numbers would not have been established until after he left.
I know, logic to an Ole Piss person is like logic to a liberal....it just don't make sense. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :doublebird: :doublebird: :doublebird: :spank: :spank: :spank: :geauxtigers:

Question, if her husband was only 4-6 hours post op, why was she having a drink at a colleague's office and not at home tending to her husband?
re: How profitable are gas stations?
Posted by Geaux-2-L-O-Miss on 1/14/26 at 12:13 am to SoDakHawk
Most foreign own are older stations that original owners want out of. As said, fuel brings you in but inside sales is where the money is made.
You still see new stations going up "QT" seems to be a new smaller brand of "Buckees" (sp) but these cost a lot to get started. 30 years ago a Chevron cost $1 million for an 8-pump station to build new. Not sure what cost is these days for new.
To original question, not sure how profitable they are, but not many lose money unless in the middle of da hood (and those probably do ok).

I watched the highlights and was not overly impressed with the first minute and a half. Yes, there were some good blocks, but I didn't see $3 mill worth of O-lineman there. Not my money, so spend what you want where you want. We need O-line and a coach who knows how to coach an o-line for sure.
Question about OL...
Posted by Geaux-2-L-O-Miss on 1/13/26 at 10:43 pm
We have picked up 4 OL's in the portal but have lost 8 OL's to the portal. How many do we have as backups. 4 OL is not near enough!
I know trust in CLK, but having enough OL's is kind of important. Big nasties' aren't major splashes but without then the QB may take a lot of major splashes.

Amazing how after wiping his eyes he had clear voice and "no more tears" (thank you Ozzy, RIP). Fake arse bull-shite is still fake arse-bull-shite. But then again, what do you expect from a Ginger. :usa: :usa: :usa: :spank: :spank: :spank:

I see where they are covering but as stated the other driver is at fault and his ins should cover. But back to the original refusal. What if it was 2 friends in the car with them and not their kids? Would that be a non-coverage as well? :banghead:

Crazy that the Owner did not know keys were left. My truck and my wife's (no pics) car honk the horn if you close the door with the key's still in. She seemed innocent enough, I guess. Did the Owner not know what the honk was when closing the door? :dunno:

I watched it over the weekend. It was a letdown from what I was expecting. Would not watch again.

LSU was a 35 point favorite in that game. My dad and I were there. 4th quarter the stadium was almost empty. After the come back my dad said “This is why you stay the whole game”.

I believe you to be wrong good sir. The founding fathers did foresee this, as they had a large percentage of uneducated in their time. They even tried to account for it. It was not until future Congresses and Presidents passed new voting rights laws that changed the course of the Country forever. :usa:

re: Anybody here ever been to/lived in a modern ghost town (Centralia, Times Beach, etc)

Rodney is not a ghost town during hunting season.
Do they still have a "Purple Cow Bar"?
Of course, you have the old Presbyterian Church with the Civil War cannon ball in the front wall.
Fun fact, Rodney lost out to Jackson as the State Capital by 5 votes back in the late 1800's. Obviously, that was prior to the sand bar forming in the MS River which pushed it further away from "town".

re: How old is too old to change careers or start your own business?
Posted by Geaux-2-L-O-Miss on 12/6/25 at 12:03 am to 87PurpleandGold
I started my company almost 10 years ago (at 43). Had poured my all into the old company (12 years) but didn't get the return for what I was putting in. Talked to a couple of companies about joining and they were slow to respond. Wife finally said you've been doing this for others do it for yourself.
We discussed it and I told her the first year or two would be hard/lean. She said she had faith in me and it would work out. February will be ten years.
The first year was hard but it came around in the second year. Since then, we have been up most years with 1 or 2 down a little (Covid hurt).
More than the money, my kids were High School age and I could set my meetings around their games/match's. It was great to be the dad that showed up for my kid's events and cheer them on. No amount of money can replace being there for your kids.
Owning your own Company and working for yourself should be everyone's goal, but it doesn't always play out that way. I got lucky that my wife supported and pushed me and I was successful.
I did not change careers just started my own business.
