its hard to imagine his stock going up from here. it would be a shame to see him return to a mediocre team and fall in the draft relative to where he is today.
Lane and his train gang are exposing to the college football world how awful and underwhelming he was

I dont understand it… i get the desire to move on from kelly, but with kiffin here youd think he would want to be a part of that offensive juggernaut. Maybe he was just burned out and needed something new
I dont like these questions but i’ll bite. Offensive line
Agree… but the problem is that EVERY big school feels the same

Clearing house question

Posted by gerkin on 1/13/26 at 1:27 pm
Im a little ignorant on how the clearing house works. Major programs are dishing out serious money. What does the clearinghouse look at and WHEN. There isnt much precedent that i know of of getting approval or getting rejected.
guess what, it was the same before. like coach o said... now the bags of cash go through the front door instead of the backdoor
im certainly excited, though it is a little dampened... a friend of mine who is an orthopedist has his doubts leavitt will play first several games. who knows... but landon clark is awesome. i loooved his interview with moscona today
It dawned on me that the highest paid players are getting close to earning more than their head coach. Weird times
i think that lane could sell it to landon for the following two reasons:

1) leavitt has quite a recovery ahead of him. may very well need landon to start first few games.

2) learning under kiffin.

NIL contracts - incentives?

Posted by gerkin on 1/11/26 at 8:39 pm
Not sure if anyone would have a way of knowing this, but im curious if lesser proven transfers (or i guess any player) have something like incentive clauses. ex: if they become a starter for x games, money goes up. y games up more. z games up more. all conference, more. all american, more. etc

if Leavitt comes, LSU has two things going for them when it comes to getting two good QBs:

1. his injury.. possibility he reinjures or isnt ready in september

2. learning under kiffin

i expect them to get two good ones. from what im reading, clark and leavitt.

may get clark regardless.

a third qb wouldn't be too hard i wouldnt think... just a decent/serviceable back up rom small time or juco that is ok with being a practice qb

first day of classes - does it matter?

Posted by gerkin on 1/11/26 at 5:43 pm
i guess i need to start by apologizing - i did search but didn't see this.

with first day of LSU classes tomorrow I would think players in the portal interested in LSU really need to get on it asap. Does anyone know how this works? i guess they could always commit/sign but not come until the summer, but that doesn't seem smart. i cant imagine there is a long window of time after the first day of class to still enroll (even with the athletic departments influence)
As i understand it, the cost is more or less the same either way. Got to pay current players returning.

But yeah, thats absurd. I didnt know they are replacing their entire team.

Thanks for sharing. Genuinely appreciate it. Having said that, at this point i have to see it to believe it.

Feels like we are missing on alot of our big targets:(
Just a few hours ago i listened to scone harp about how unlikely it would be to get leavitt. I should have known right then we got him
