until Thursday. I don't see Bama getting down 20-0, I don't see Bama having 3 turnovers to TAMU's zero, and I don't see Bama starting off 0 for 7 on their 3rd down conversion attempts. TAMU scored 9 points on Bama after that disastrous 1st quarter. That's about right. I give them between 15-20 for the game. They scored 19 vs. LSU last year and 17 vs. Florida. That's about what that Offense against good Defense's should score. OTOH, TAMU's Defense is not in that league. Not gonna predict a score, but Bama will control the game. Saban will treat Manziel much like he did Arkansas in 2010.

This is likely right. I'll even give aTm the benefit of the doubt and say they get a garbage TD. They still lose by 10 or more. Alabama hasn't given up 30 points in a football game since 2008.
Most of us come here to talk sports not politics. In fact I come here to escape that shite. dittiedirtyAubie.....if you want to discuss the state of race relations in America, there are lots of other places you can do it. Please take it there.

Moderator.....please remove the politics.
I'm starting to understand ags. If Bama wins this game by a field goal, you'll log in here tomorrow evening and swear to god that aTm must have won in the last seconds and you missed it. Never seen anything like them.
Damn. How many games of the century are we going to have this century?

I'd be amazed if it actually made the drive from Alabama to Texas.

Probably a local, we have fans all over... from the trailer parks in west Texas to Wall Street.

Nationwide.

I don't know. It has no front license plate. Texas has two plates. Alabama doesn't.
They must have hauled that thing to Texas on a trailer.

Just bought a point on the spread and took bama. If bama wins it's by more than 6.5.

Doesn't feel good. But easy money nonetheless.

You could have not bought the point and still won.

Everyone is joking about this defense but with the personnel that Bama has, it makes the most since. Just think of a 4-2-5 defense, minus a linebacker, with hard hitting safeties like HaHa, Vinnie and Landon coming up in the box. When Bama win this game with that D, everyone will call CNS a genius and follow suit like always.

Good observation. Bama is going to put a quick, slightly lighter, yet hard hitting D on the field. Collins is the new evolution in college defenses. The safety / linebacker hybrid.

Nice pic. Haven't seen that one.

You think there might have been some libations consumed at that gathering?

^ This. I told a friend on the golf course today about an hilarious gif I was here. He just looked at me like I was stupid...(insert the obligatory "you are" here)

Manziel would lol at LSU's defense

Good point. Mett and the O.....much improved. The D.............???

I'd call it a straight toss-up. Vegas would probably have A&M as 1.5 point 'dogs.

I agree. But, I think the way Mett is playing, LSU beats aTm.
We all know Bama is supposed to beat aTm this weekend. I was wondering if LSU played aTm this Saturday, at a neutral field, who would be favored?
This game is a good measure of where Tennessee is. If they stay within 17, it will be a win for the Vol program.

I also don't expect this game to be high scoring.

About 60 total points. (Bama will score 40 of them)

This is going to be the best damn game of the year.

No it won't. The Alabama/LSU game will be a much more competitive game.

The compelling case is that Bama has better athletes and better coaches

They didn't have better coaches and athletes last year?

They did.

re: Mett's draft stock on the rise

Mett has been impressive. If he keeps playing at the current level, LSU is a top 5 team.
You do what aTm's president did.........flash the money sign.
3 and long? When your opponent gives up 5 yards per rushing attempt, how many times will you have 3rd and long?

According to some hes not even the best QB in the SEC, hell in the West for that matter. 1. Murray 2. Mettsiah 3. AJ 4. Bo 5. Driskel 6. JFF

Can someone please make SURE that JFF sees this - before the game on Saturday?

Maybe JFF is the best QB in the SEC (debatable) but, aTm is way overrated. They are not a top ten team. There are a dozen teams in the country that would be favored over aTm. aTm has more holes than swiss cheese. It will be exposed Saturday.

God

There is no god.
It will take two Bama turnovers inside it's own 30 yard line. Or, two aTm special teams TDs. Or, a combination of the above. If this doesn't happen.....aTm fukkked.

re: Auburn vs Mississippi St

Posted by King Crimson on 9/12/13 at 1:56 pm to
This is a pretty even football game. Any defense that can hold Ok. St. to 21 can certainly contain Auburn. This game will be a toss up.

Great - just let that 18 year old go play in the AFL or CFL as a professional. If they earn oney, they are not an amateur student-athlete. Their choice.

Does the AFL or CFL have the same rules as the NFL? If they do, they really can't go play for them and they have to go to college. If you remove the rules about paying players, it fixes the problem.

The only reason those rules exist anyway is the greed of the institutions. If boosters are given free reign, the universities can still make their dough and the players can profit too. Win Win.

Just let the athletes get whatever money they can. If someone wants to give an 18 year old $200k, who are we to tell him no?

I agree, I don't see what the harm is... So what if Manziel makes a few bucks off a bunch of autographed jizz jars or if some agent tries to recruit a big name player? As long as the Universities themselves aren't paying the players, I don't see why they still couldn't be regarded as amateurs

I don't disagree with this at all. In fact, it would help to break up the monopoly of the powers of college football and basketball. Take SMU for example. They were never a football power until their boosters made them one. Letting boosters buy players will make for a much more competitive stage, and give teams that were doormats a chance to compete. It might even become more lucrative for players than the NFL. No more leaving school early when they can make more money staying in college.

No...thread that got deleted where King Crimson informed us about it being open season on whitey, and the burden we have of taking care of 8 out of 10 black babies.

Had to take desperate steps to get that trash thread off this board.

So be it. It stinks to high heaven as it is.

Really? Why is your username King Crimson and not Emperor Titan?

It doesn't stink to high heaven. The only place it seems to stink is at the top. There are plenty of schools who do not and have not had any serious infractions in quite some time.

Either we can say they're better at cheating, or maybe, just maybe, they aren't cheating.

LOL....you show me a top 25 program and I'll show you a program that's breaking NCAA rules. Can I prove that? No, but if you're competing at a high level in college athletics today.....you're cheating.
