re: You're welcome Reds

We are playing well, but we do know Cordero pretty well, seeing as he was our closer. Marty Brennaman always called him "Half-Pack" Cordero. Introduced him with "Here comes Half-pack Cordero, Reds fans, smoke 'em if you got 'em". It seemed no matter what, he would give up atleast a walk and a hit, no matter the situation.

2 Indiana 3 Michigan must be a joke

Do you follow college basketball? As far as Indiana goes, they have a top 5 recruiting class coming in, with a stud at each position. Also, if Watford doesn't leave, all 5 starters will be returning. That's from a sweet 16 team that was beat UK and also gave them as good a run as anyone else in the tourney. Who else would you rank ahead of them? Katz now has IU at #1 since Rivers is leaving. Maybe Ohio St if Sullinger doesn't leave?
How much are tickets usually? And if you graduated in december does your student ID still scan to get you in for free?

I even left it open whether their best player is Lidstrom or Zetteburg

Their best player is most certainly Datsyuk, who is Russian, although I do love Zetty too. And while Lidstrom has consistently been the most reliable and solid player on the team for 20 seasons now, I don't know that he was ever the *best* on a Wings team that has been pretty consistently loaded since then. But that isn't to take anything at all away from an absolutely magnificent career of his, just a testament to the talent the wings have had for so long. (knock on wood)

Yea this will sell out, the UM-MSU hockey game they held there sold out fairly quickly. Solid matchup, I know the NHL wanted to keep it kinda as only American teams, but this is still good. Let's hope it will be actual winter weather for it, and not this weird 50+ degrees they've had the past 2 years

So as a Reds fan consistently on the edge of my seat worried about closing a game out, I'm a little worried here.

As a huge Reds fan, I'm extremely pleased with this signing (for right now atleast. We will see how I feel in July and August, but it seems like a great sign). When I was up at IU, I was able to either watch or listen to just about every Reds game, and Cordero took years off my life every time he took the mound. I know the stats don't show it, but it seemed like every time he took the mound to close out a game that he would allow a hit and then a walk, or the other way around. Marty Brennaman even called him "Half-pack Cordero. Smoke 'em if you got 'em". He just never seemed to close a game easily.

I am pretty pumped about this upcoming season, especially now that we got Pujols out the division and Braun has a 50 game suspension. If Cozart comes along at SS, I feel like we definitely have the best infield in the game. Solid starting rotation, although no leftys in it unless Chapman comes around as starter. Now a much improved bullpen too.

Is it just because of free agency that we don't see teams like the 98 wings any more?

The 2001-02 Wings were probably more loaded. Atleast 10 future HOFers

It's absolutely ridiculous for someone to say he shouldn't sniff the HOF, and even stupid for somebody to make a case for him to not be inducted. He made it in his 3rd year of eligibility. You have 15 years. I would say that the BBWA knew what they were doing with this one.

Also, I believe that he was one of the best SS there was too. He would have had way more Gold Gloves were it not for his career overlapping with Ozzie Smith's, and honestly a few of those gold gloves the Wizard won probably could have gone to Larkin, but that award is based alot on name and rep.

I also am a Reds fan, so a little biased as Barry is my 2nd favorite baseball player of all time, but I really don't see how you can make a case to keep him out of the Hall, let alone that he "shouldn't sniff it"
yea BWW gets it. Most of the bars I called didn't get it. Damn Cox Cable not carryin it

Go Hoosiers
I posted this in OT Lounge, maybe it's more appropriate here. Do any bars in Baton Rouge get Big Ten Network? I'm looking to watch the IU-MSU game tonight. Any help would be appreciated

My favorite horror movie of all time, not just because of the sentimental value of loving it as a kid. And yea, Zelda was scary as shite.

Had a sleepover for a birthday party shortly after this movie came on VHS and my Dad freaked the shite out of all us by going outside and scratching on the window screaming "Zeldaaaa". great times
"Happy Gilmore" near the beginning Happy hits a slapshot and breaks the glass, then in the next scene the glass is there again.
